When the Holy Ghost came down on the day of Pentecost a crowd had gathered, some to inquire about the sound of a rushing mighty wind and why 120 Galileans were speaking about the wonderful works of God, others to mock. Then Peter got up to speak. He quoted the prophets to show that the Jesus whom the Jews had just rejected, and crucified, was in fact their Messiah, whom their God had now raised up and shown to be both Lord and Christ.
