Hardworking British National Party Stoke-on-Trent councillor Mike Coleman has been appointed West Midlands regional councillor support officer while Telford organiser Phil Spencer has been appointed regional training officer.
Cllr Mike ColemanMaking the announcement at last weekend’s West Midlands Regional Council meeting, regional organiser Alwyn Deacon said Cllr Coleman’s role will be to help all regional councillors with their demanding work.
"Cllr Coleman will also put his considerable experience to work in helping would-be councillors prepare for office."
“The region will be undertaking a major training programme in which members will be trained in how to be an organiser, a fund holder and other important functions,” he continued.
Two other appointments were made at the meeting. Rob Weale has become the new organiser of the Black Country Branch and Simon Foxall has become Black Country Branch Secretary.
“The meeting was well attended and productive,” Mr Deacon continued. “Various items were discussed and lots of questions were asked which were all answered.
“All branches cannot wait for the Autumn campaign to start. There are lots of plans to hit new places as well as old ones with the excellent Bring our Troops Home table tops,” he said, adding that the region was looking forward to a busy period with “lots of activism as well as some good social events.”
