British National Party GLA member and leadership challenger Richard Barnbrook has expressed his disgust at what the anti-democratic sabotage of his official website by the web designer of fellow leadership challenger Eddy Butler.
Richard BarnbrookMr Barnbrook’s official GLA website was destroyed and traffic redirected to Mr Butler’s campaign website by the disgraced traitor former BNP webmaster Simon Bennett, who engendered the hatred of all normal and decent party members when he deliberately destroyed the BNP website just before the last election.
Bennett also destroyed the party’s internal communications systems, the press inquiry contact system and blocked BNP writers from accessing the site as part of a tissue of lies and distortions he had manufactured against the party.
Despite all these treasonous activities, Mr Butler saw fit to allow Bennett to design and build his leadership campaign website.
Although Bennett had of course been suspended from the party for his treason, it was Mr Butler’s right to employ whoever he wanted to in his campaign team, despite the obvious questions over Bennett’s suitability. In addition, nothing was said about Mr Butler's promise to re-employ Bennett as BNP webmaster should he win the leadership election.
One domain over which Bennett retained control was Mr Barnbrook’s website, which was left functioning while attempts were made to recruit him to Mr Butler’s leadership challenge team.
When it became apparent that Mr Barnbrook did not want to join Mr Butler’s campaign and instead announced his own leadership challenge, Bennett then killed Mr Barnbrook’s website (which contained a record of years of his work in the GLA) and redirected the domain to Mr Butler’s campaign site (which Bennett designed and built).
“I was very surprised to discover, no doubt along with everyone else, that my blog has been sabotaged,” Mr Barnbrook said.
“When I logged on today, I was shocked to find that traffic visiting the site has been diverted to Eddy Butler’s site.
“This sort of bad play is slightly underhand. It’s not really very democratic and it certainly doesn’t assist members in making up their minds about the issues that are being raised with regard to the future of this party,” Mr Barnbrook said.
“Behaviour like this is, I think, a cause for concern. Because everyone is entitled to have their say, whether one agrees with it or not.”
Mr Barnbrook has set up a new GLA blog which can be found by clicking here.
BNP News understands from the party leadership that legal options over the blatant abuse of Mr Barnbrook’s website are currently being investigated.
