The village of Barnham in West Sussex was cut off due to floods following two days of constant heavy rain fall. Councillor John Robinson explained that the white bungalow in the photographs is completely surrounded by water as you can see.
Councillor Robinson arranged an elderly gentleman trapped inside to be transported to safety to some near by friends.
Councillor Robinson has been praised by the elderly mans family who live a great distance away, and they stated in times like this their brother more often than not gets overlooked by flood services, but thanks to John, not this time.
This is just another example of how our Parish Councillors are making a real difference to their communities.
Following an update,Councillor John Robinson has told us that the flood level in Barnham has dropped to a safe level at the moment but the village remains on yellow alert as more heavy rain has been forecasted for the area by the Meteorological Office.
The elderly gentleman that had to be rescued from his house has now returned home.
Councillor Robinson has yet again swung into action and sandbags were ordered and then John took time out to put them in place, to help stop further water damage also to keep the man safe.
