Key officials, activists and members, met and appointed long time stalwart Edward O’Sullivan to be the British National Party candidate for the May 3rd 2012 Salford Mayoral Elections.
Eddy told the room, as elected British National Party Mayor, he would be looking for transparency for all Salford City Council accounts, every single penny would be accounted for and publicised to the public for their scrutiny
Eddy would scrap all mishmash wasting of the public’s cash, such events like, Gay Pride, Asylum Seeker Week and Teaching Bangladeshi women to speak English. Eddy told Salford “The money should be for the Salfordians, the majority not the minority, the system is currently out of hand and we are here to fix it.
“Common sense spending is required to drive down the cost of Council Tax, to make affordable to pay. A full review is needed of councillors’ allowances. We cannot keep with the current trend of borrowing, spending then borrowing more to pay the interest rates, its simple we can only spend what we have got”
Eddy wants to make sure that the people we employ at Salford council are doing the job they are employed to do, this means no more spending millions on consultants to do the job for them, shape up or ship out.
A full reform of the Education system. We will not be teaching young children sex education and homosexuality, it’s wrong it’s got to stop. Eddy states he is not looking for political correctness, just common sense
Eddy is looking for real business, Local jobs for local people, and investing in industry as shareholders, let’s start generating money for Salfordians, let’s make it work for us, the taxpayer.
Eddy sums the mayoral elections up by saying “We, the British National Party are the party representing the silent majority, it’s vitally important to engage with non voters, to vote, sign them up to the postal vote. We create a positive message of hope and the public have faith in us.
"This opportunity of an elected mayor in Salford is the greatest way of getting our message across to the general public, we are the last hope” Eddy concluded
Also appointed was Kay Pollitt as Eddy O’Sullivan’s agent for the elections,
Gary Tumulty, Salford Organiser, tells correspondents “It gives me great delight tonight to see a close friend like Eddy appointed as the Mayoral candidate for the May elections.
“A deposit of £500 is required and returnable at 5% of the vote, one of our local business men rang me early this morning and pledged to give us the money, we as a branch would like to thank this man, its is more than appreciated.
“As Eddy stated in his speech, this is a great opportunity for the British National Party in Salford and it will also give 150,000 Salfordians an option to vote for the party.” Gary concluded.
Salford British National Party next meeting is on the 21st February where Party Chairman Nick Griffin MEP will be speaking, so come along, sign up for a postal vote, or get involved with Eddy’s Mayoral Election ring Gary on 07909 674 006 or email salford@bnp.org.uk
