From Paul Borg, Newham Contact-Saturday 2nd February saw four of our hard working activists leafleting the streets of Barking and Dagenham in East London.
On hearing that two of the sitting Labour Party councilors in the Mayesbrook Ward of Barking & Dagenham had defected in disgust, one crossed the floor to join the Tory Party and another to act as an independent, local activists took to the streets on another bitterly cold day for a leaflet drop lest a by-election is called.
Using the ever-popular Taking Our Country Back issue, the four very experienced and seasoned activists managed to cover a vast area and drop about 1,500 leaflets in the space of two hours.
It was a good day’s work for a session that was called at short notice and one that thoroughly pleased organiser Paul Sturdy.
Said Paul “I called this session to prepare for any eventuality and that should there be a by-election at some point then we will be ready.
The people of Barking & Dagenham will know that we are there and that they have a viable alternative to the useless councils that have virtually destroyed our borough.
I’d like to thank my team who have again proved that their dedication is second to none”
There will be plenty more sessions in the near future and anyone interested in lending a hand should contact the London Region on 07771-598-227
