By Eastern Region BNP- After the demonstration and the meeting on Sunday 9th September in Heybridge, Essex, a really positive article appeared in the Maldon Standard, the local newspaper for that area.
Feelings have been running high in this area about the Conservatives’ Local Development Plan (LDP) which has been out to consultation in the Maldon area.
This consultation comes on the back of the “Localism Act”.
This Act is supposed to give more power to local communities and Parish Councils to decide what they want in their own area, however, the sting in the tail is that they have to build thousands of new homes that they don’t want or need and if your local planning department turns them down then the appeals will be decided by (surprise, surprise) the Secretary of State.
This is democracy the LIBCON way!
The YouTube clip of this event has had 40 views in the first 24 hours.

It’s not surprising that the local people are up in arms about this massive house building plan with no extra jobs as a double blow to the local economy.
The amount of local people that responded against the LDP is in the region of 950 and with the County Council elections just around the corner in June 2013, will make the election interesting.
Luckily for the people of Heybridge they have 2 British National Party Councillors who are fighting to keep this part of Essex green and beautiful.
On a recent visit to this part of Essex, the Chairman, Nick Griffin MEP, was invited behind the bar of the local pub by the landlady for some photos to be taken.
Essex boy Richard Perry, the new Eastern Region Organiser, said it was a pity he didn’t get a round of drinks in while he was behind there!
