By Steve Squire, London Organiser-15 activists turned out for the Abu Qatada special immigration appeal hearing and protested and demonstrated for 3 hours, and successfully stopped this dangerous individual from obtaining bail.

It was encouraging to receive support from staff at the tribunal offices who said that "they agreed with everything we stated"

Abu  Qatada was refused bail last night over fears Al Qaeda militants could assist him and escape from the police and MI5 during the Olympic Games.

A judge said comments on jihadist websites specified the cleric’s supporters were prepared to rescue him from house arrest if he was granted bail.

He also said that if Qatada did abscond, the police and security services will be so stretched during the London Games they would probably struggle to trace him.
