By Geoff Foreman-Despite a cold wintery wind blowing in from the river Mersey, our local activists took to the streets of Liverpool last Saturday.
We set up in the main shopping area, within the city centre to hand out “We want our country back” leaflets.
Surprisingly we encountered no local UAF/SWP etc., and our leafleting session went totally unchallenged by the usual “Unwashed brigade.”
We had an instant success by signing up a new member, which was a positive start to the day and made all of our efforts worthwhile.
This type of session is always a great way to engage with the general public and helps to break down the stereotypical image of the British National Party.
Like many activists throughout the country, we encountered a lot of support and positive feedback.
The people of Liverpool seemed genuinely happy to see us back in the heart of the city.
The lack of any disturbances from the local UAF allowed the public a chance to come and ask us questions regarding the British National Party, and to receive genuine answers and information from British National Party members and not the distorted view of the British media.
It was agreed by all who attended, that it had been a very positive day, and that more city centre table tops would be planned for the near future.
