DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS MEETING IS NOW CANCELLED
Mike Whitby will be talking about fractional reserve banking. I personally find this particular speech very interesting.
This is the first political meeting for Burnley branch of 2013.
I would like to ask all those who wish to stand as a candidate in the up and coming County Council elections on May 2nd to arrive and hour early to participate in the necessary discussions.
This is for Burnley, Pendle and Padiham area only. I would like to aim to have all candidate names put forward with the possible wards they wish to stand in.
This needs to be done and confirmed as soon as possible.
We will also be doing a raffle to help raise money for the branch so all raffle donation prizes will be gratefully received.
We will also be doing a copper and small change collection, so if you have any please bring this along, it all mounts up to help towards elections!
Not only money, one of our biggest needs for the elections is plain A4 paper which can be brought from places such as Tesco’s for £3.20 for 500 sheets.
In the Lancashire County Council elections each person stands in 2.5 - 3 wards.
This equals a lot of paper so every little will help.
Hope to see you all there.
