Campaigning continues in the Gooshays Ward ahead of the Local Council by-election on Thursday March 21st.
Members from the Bexley Branch, including Mike Jones South London Sub-regional Organiser crossed London to help local Party members canvass during the week.
Many streets were canvassed, with a generally positive response from the public.
Some postal votes were collected and several of the householders commented that they had seen Mick out and about in Hilldene.
On Saturday 20 Party activists gathered to continue with canvassing and leafleting.
There was a good turn-out, again, from the younger Party members. “It is so encouraging to see young people getting positively involved,” said Mick, “and especially good to see young women join us”.
Steve Squire, London Regional Organiser commented, “This election is running smoothly, with no stress and disagreement. Everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves and the atmosphere is very friendly”. This feeling was echoed by Kevin Layzell, Young British National Party London Organiser who added “The young people are enjoying making a difference, we are happy to help, for example with leafleting the flats”.
Candidate Mick Braun along with his election agent Bob Taylor were on hand to speak to shoppers in the Hilldene Shopping Precinct, while young Nationalists manned the stall and handed out leaflets.
Bob commented, “The campaign is on course and it's great to talk to members of the public and get our message across”.
Mick added, “I would like to thank all those who have come out to help me with the by election, without your help, I wouldn't be able to run such an effective campaign”
