From Our Chief Lincolnshire Correspondent-Prime Minister David Cameron has as widely reported been visiting India with a mammoth delegation of ministers at the same time as New Delhi have cancelled orders for the Eurofighter and more recently look to renege on an order for 12 helicopters from the UK.
Cameron has appeared weak and poorly prepared but as pictured fully embraces his hosts whilst pouring endless compliments on one of the world's biggest polluters just at the same time shameful figures have been released by End Child Poverty showing the appalling situation in the UK.
These figures show how within the East Midlands levels of Child Poverty in many wards of parliamentary constituencies are at completely unacceptable levels and are amongst the highest in the country.
A situation exists where children are leaving for school without breakfast, without suitable clothing or shoes, without adequate school equipment and return home to be faced with no hot prepared food and to live in unsatisfactory conditions with family breakdown the norm.
The Lib-CON coalition had aspirations to eradicate child poverty but the shameful figures below confirm that Cameron's Visit to India takes priority over the catastrophic children's care disgrace which blights the East Midlands.
In the Parliamentary constituency of Louth & Horncastle in the Mablethorpe East ward 30 % of children live in poverty, 31% in Derby South in the Normanton ward, 32% in Bolsover in the Elmton-with- Cresswell ward, 32% in Gainsborough North, 33% in Leicester South in Spinney Hills, 34 % in Grantham & Stamford Earlesfield and 34% in Fenside Boston.
Figures are even more damning in Corby with 36% in Gainsborugh East and in Corby Kingswood, 36 % also in Killisick Gedling and a shocking 39% in Bolsover Shirebrook North West.
40 % of children live in poverty in Mablethorpe North in the Louth & Horncastle constituency mirrored by 42% in High Peak in Gamesby, 42% and 43% in wards in Leicester South and Leicester West with 48% in Ilkeston North in Erewash.
This is a totally unacceptable situation confirming that this coalition government is abandoning children and in the East Midlands the British National Party is to demonstrate effectively that our priority is helping families with our policies focusing on putting our own people first in the early stages of the 2014 European Election Campaign.
