From Our Chief Lincolnshire Correspondent.
Crime continues to cause deep concerns in Lincolnshire for hard pressed retailers as another Asian operator is processed through the revolving door that is today's criminal justice system.
Following prosecutions in Boston, Cleethorpes, Skegness and Spalding the Pride of Lincolnshire and once unspoilt historic city of Lincoln, the soon to be home of a 'Super' Mosque has the unenviable reputation as having a retailer now banned from selling alcohol anywhere in the UK! Khalid Jasim, 28 was found guilty at Lincoln Magistrates Court of 6 offences under The Trademarks Act and for dealing in illicit tobacco and alcohol. Jasim was fined £1,000 and stripped of his licence in respect of his 2 stores trading as International Stores from two locations in the city.
The British National Party display above one of the shops in question where Trading Standards Officers discovered 2294 counterfeit cigarettes and 9.15 kg of smuggled tobacco.
Unbelievably Jasim pleaded Guilty citing ignorance and inexperience. This prosecution rapidly follows the shocking Spalding Court case where Turkish Kebab Shop operator Salman Pelit had his licence to retail alcohol also revoked following months of the sale of over 30 bottles of illegal vodka per week eventually seized again by the authorities from his Zorab 3 Store in the town .
All bottles contained the chemical T - butanol which is a paint remover. The Lincolnshire Coastal Branch of The Party had received 3 letters regarding this establishment also pictured which led Lincolnshire County Council Safer Communities Managers to state that the management of Zorba 3 had no control over illegal activities and that their licence had to be immediately revoked after an admittance that alcohol was being bought from the back of White Vans.
How much longer does this wholesale and endemic criminal activity have to continue? Independent long established Lincolnshire Convenience Store owners need help and protection now from the authorities as the situation concerning illegal and highly dangerous alcohol as seen in the Boston Bootleg Explosion some 18 months ago is now so acute action is needed.
The British National Party call for an uprating of the Regulatory powers all councils possess with immediate investment to provide rapid policing to combat Immigrant fuelled Alcohol & Tobacco Criminal Activity.
As one letter arriving at the Lincs Coastal PO Box stated [sic] ' My home town is now like the Wild West, it is lawless - please help! ' Write in with your concerns and we will swiftly act to: Lincolnshire Coastal, PO Box 43, Alford, Lincolnshire, LN 13 3AH.
