Saturday saw a busy day of action from the Havering Branch, ahead of the Gooshays Ward by election on March 21st. Twelve activists gathered, despite the bitterly cold weather, which saw snow fall during the morning, to deliver leaflets throughout the Ward.
Local activists were joined by members from other Branches and were led by Steve Squire – the popular and enthusiastic London Regional Organiser, along with Paul Sturdy, the Havering Branch Organiser.
Mick Braun, the BNP candidate for this by election was unable to attend due to work commitments, but leafleting continued enthusiastically in his absence.
Bob Taylor commented “It is so good to see people pull together and support Mick’s campaign.
We are especially pleased to see such a good turn-out of youngsters”.
Among the youngsters happy to devote their Saturdays to the Party were Kevin Layzell, London Region YBNP Organiser, Sam Mayhew and Mark Jones, also Organisers from the YBNP.
They were joined by another young supporter new to activism, as well as by a young member from another Branch.
With such a dedicated team, around 3,000 leaflets were distributed.
These included the excellent “Liebour” leaflet produced by Mick Braun; as well as recruitment and election warm up material.
One activist told the website “while leafleting we came across another Party canvassing, and I am proud to say that we have more youth on our side than any of the other local Parties.
Our young people are keen and committed, and are willing to learn from the older and more experience activists. The future of the BNP is looking brighter than ever”.
The Havering Branch hope to be canvassing next week and all local activists are welcome to join us. For more details contact Steve Squire 07771 598227
