Activists have been pouring into Oldham all day to help Derek Adams' brave stand in that town's by-election today, reports National Elections Officer, Clive Jefferson.

By the close of play, 17,000 of the polling day special leaflets will have gone out, and every street and estate has been visited by one of the British National Party's tannoy cars, which have been out all day.

It has been a tremendous team effort for a tremendous candidate.

The reality is we are fighting hard for fourth place, and our hard work and superb team effort is pitted against the huge amount of money poured into the election by Ukip and a worse-than-usual media bias and censorship!

All is set for a most interesting finish tonight. Whatever the result, we have achieved what we set out to do: We have re-invigorated our activists, unified the party behind our candidate, learned a lot and brought up huge issues. 

The Party is fighting both the three establishment parties but also UKIP who have poured money into their campaign. UKIP are an establishment safety-valve who are often hyped by the controlled media in attempts to undermine the British National Party.
