Today on the World @ 8 with Lynne Mozar – A seven year sentence has been handed down to a group of Muslim men, found guilty of hate crimes after they handed out leaflets saying that ‘gay people should be hanged, stoned and burned to death’. These men wanted a Sharia Law area of Derby set up only for Muslims, making it a no-go area for anyone else.

Also on the World @ 8, today the 8th February:

•    Argentina is about to make its ‘formal’ complaint over what they call is a ‘militarisation’ of the Falkland Islands
•    A Polish immigrant construction worker has been convicted of raping an 18 year old girl
•    The Euro zone is still in a twist over Greece
•     9 people have been killed in a missile attack in a region near the Afghan border.
•    A national unity government is being called for to help the situation within the Maldives.
•    Thought for the Day
