That well known global institution Scouting began in 1907 when Robert Baden Powell held the first Scouting camp on Brownsea Island in England.
Baden-Powell wrote the principles of Scouting in Scouting for Boys (London, 1908), based on his earlier military books, with influence and support of Frederick Russell Burnham (Chief of Scouts in British Africa).
During the first half of the 20th century, the movement grew to encompass three major age groups each for boys and, in 1910, a new organization, Girl Guides, was created for girls.
Now can you believe it,the Scout Association have launched a new long-sleeved clothing range for Muslim girls including a hooded dress and a T-shirt dress.
The knee-length outfits - designed to be worn over trousers, jeans or leggings - feature a graphic print inspired by Scout badges and activities and have been designed by Sarah Elenany, a 27-year-old British designer of Palestinian and Egyptian origin.
The Scout Association said that more than a third of all scouts worldwide now are Muslim with an estimated 2,000 Muslim scouts in the UK.
Whatever next? Every Boy Scout Hut torn down and rebuilt so that it faces Mecca?
