Burnley, Padiham and Pendle welcomed British National Party chairman and NW MEP Nick Griffin to a cold Lancashire on Sat 16th as part of his busy tour of Britain.
Pendle councillors and activists ran an information stall in Colne Town Centre where Nick joined them and spoke to many local people and also answered several interesting questions that members of the public had to ask, but we never see the "elite breed" of the LibLabCon to ask them!
As always, a warm friendly reception from good honest Lancashire folk.
The team then moved on to a wind farm just outside Burnley where the existing 20+ turbines are going to be replaced by turbines 3 times the size and Scottish Power will be tearing down people’s property to get the sections to the site.
Watch out for the full report on Britain’s energy crisis on BNPtv.
Finally off to Burnley to meet up with the rest of the activists and members alongside several guests who had asked to attend to meet the chairman.
We all enjoyed some hot food that Burnley BNP ladies had prepared then we held a Question and Answer session that Nick had agreed to squeeze in before he had to leave for Manchester for an evening meeting.
Questions were asked on many subjects that are relevant and in the news, from the party stance on the disgusting "bedroom tax" to the fairness of the EU budget, and the micro parties that seem to be emerging out of the woodwork every 5 minutes.
Then it was time for the chairman to set off on the final leg of the tour to Manchester then on to Cumbria the following day.
Three new members signed after meeting the chairman, with another three promising they will be doing this week.
