We hear much inconsistent information regarding Right Wing or Nationalistm and what a bad bunch of people they are but recently the Greek economic disaster has brought out commentators in abundance many talking about ‘Left Wing Nationalism’ 

So let’s try and define Left wing Nationalism?

Left-wing nationalism describes a form of nationalism based upon equality, national self-determination.It typically rejects racist nationalism and fascism.

REALLY?

What about Stalinism – a branch of Marxist–Leninist ideology.

Communist in design, Fascist in implementation.

Can we really acknowledge Stalin’s reign as one of equality?

What about Maoism - Once again Communist in design, Fascist in Implementation.

No equality here? Historical and Religious sites ransacked and demolished. No tolerance here?

Intolerance and racial prejudice has always been a trait of Left wing Nationalists.

Take Sinn Fein for example.

Following Mao’s ideology of Peoples war or the perpetual revolutionary Guerrilla Warfare, Sinn Fein with its people’s army the IRA attacked and murdered UK civilians and dignitaries for over 100 yrs intensifying for a 30yr period from the late 60’s.

The IRA’s war was one based on that of intolerant Religious lines; A defining strategy of Fascism.

Greece has experienced Communism once before.Just after the war Greece was involved in a very ugly Civil War.

The vacuum created after German occupation left the way open for the People’s army KKE. KKE quickly established channels with Yugoslavia under Tito and the Soviet Union but were eventually rejected by both.

However, the people’s war continued. After 3yrs of war Alexandros Papagos launched a major counteroffensive against DSE Regular forces (a mixture of KKE and mercenary groups) in northern Greece, and after hitting DSE hard, left them as a disorganised and beaten force. There is an old, old saying that History repeats itself.

If the Greeks vote for Left Wing Nationalism then they are guaranteed two things.

• Intolerance and

• Inequality
