By Cllr Clive Jefferson: I make no apologies for this statement!
In the light of yesterday's announcement by the Police Federation that due to the murder of two Greater Manchester Police officers this week they are calling for the reintroduction of the death penalty, and not before time.
What I will say though is that it is a sad state of affairs when it is only due to the death of some of "their own" that the police want to reintroduce the death penalty and as I understand it, they are calling for the reintroduction for Police killers only.
So what about the innocent victims of child rape and murder, of terrorist attacks and the countless victims of the narco Jihad - the scourge of every city and town in Britain now - the heroin trade and the victims of Muslim Grooming?
We stand, and always have, for the reintroduction of the death penalty, and not just for the murderers of Police officers.
I thought it relevant to reproduce an article I wrote in February of 2008 to illustrate that this is a long term BNP policy and a deep rooted part of my own personal belief of how a strong and just society should deal with criminals.
The references below were of cases in the media in 2008.
Article by Clive Jefferson February 2008:
It is British National Party official policy to reintroduce hanging and I 100% agree with that stance, in fact I voted for it at our AGM.
I sit now watching the heartrending search for the little girl Shannon, feared abducted and worse.
These creatures preying on children have given up all human rights and it is long past the time when this pathetic, weak, liberal mentality holds sway in this Country.
We are failing to act humanely in NOT executing these creatures, we are failing the children and the innocent and it disgusts me that people can commit such crimes and be allowed to live.
Levi Bellfield wouldn't have been "mouthing obscenities to the bereaved families" of those we had raped and killed and generally showing contempt to the proceedings if there was a strong length of one inch thick British rope waiting for him when he was dragged from that court.
Closure in such cases should come with the Judge putting on the traditional black cap to give sentence.
The issue of capital punishment is one that MUST be debated, there are arguments for and against, but the debate and the vote on this issue must happen.
Let us open the debate now, online, in the comment section of this article, please moderate your language and sentiment and let us have a rational debate on this very emotional issue.
