Oh dear, Dutch study finds that teaching multiculturalism and diversity can make pupils actually more intolerant
By Shetlandman-A Dutch study has found that anti-racism lessons and discussing sensitive ethnic concerns can actually be counterproductive in schools.
Or does this mean the pupils are not as easily brainwashed as the “diversity” brigade would hope them to be?
The authors say that children who are given the lessons in school are more likely to be intolerant outside the classroom.
According to one national newspaper, suggestions of racism to white pupils causes animosity, and daring to discuss real life issues such as honour killings (they now happen in Britain) paints minority children in a negative light.
Poor old British Education Minister Michael Gove has come under the fire from left-wing academics. We read in the press that he plans to drop teaching teenagers topics such as “the wide society, social and ethnic diversity of Britain from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century and supposedly how this has helped shape Britain’s identity.”
From what I learnt at school we did not really have large scale immigration from Africa and Islamic countries in the 1400's to the early part of the twentieth century (except for a few here and there), we wonder how such a topic could be correct?
Yes there were Jewish people in Britain and folk mainly from around parts of Europe but that hardly constitutes ethnic diversity. I know we had the Saxons over in England during the 2nd to 8th century plus the Vikings dropped by now and then.
Oh yes, the Roman’s even got to parts of Scotland but most of them went home didn’t they.
Or is it about re-writing history? A tool used in the classrooms by the Communists and far-left extremists in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe for decades.
We say three cheers for Michael Gove, who has had the barmy idea that our children should actually be taught more British history, what a cheeky fellow; he must be winding them up.
What, no wonders of diversity of the blessings of mass and overwhelming multiculturalism dumped on the ethnic races of Britain?
Back to the study of 1,444 pupils aged between 14 and 15 in ten Dutch schools.
The children came from different class and racial backgrounds, with also varying academic abilities. They were questioned concerning their attitudes to those from other ethnic backgrounds and their feelings towards multicultural teachings in their schools.
Teaching multiculturalism had an “unexpected negative effect” said the authors of the report. The more it is emphasised the more responses are negative, suggesting that discussions on honour killings or female circumcision could generate ill feelings to minorities.
Female circumcision has is become a problem in Scotland highlighted last year in the Scottish press. It is an act brought to this country from places like Africa.
According to the Daily Mail, Patricia Morgan an author on the family and education said “If you rub children’s noses in their supposed racism, they resent it.
Pupils are being accused of things they haven’t thought or done. Multiculturalism attempts to manipulate children’s thoughts, beliefs and emotions, it amounts to indoctrination, and it doesn’t work. It is counter-productive.
This study shows that when people try to manipulate children’s` minds, it bounces back on them.”
We would extend that to adults as well. Now what do some say about diversity and communism?
Wake up Britain!
