This April will see the introduction of the Tory’s latest attempt to rob the poor - ''THE BEDROOM TAX''.
Under this new legislation, council tenants will have up to £14 per week taken from their Council Tax Benefit if they have a spare bedroom. They will be given the option of moving to a smaller property, and the Government say that up to 85% of tenants will take this option and move.
However, where will they move to? Where are all these new properties going to come from?
We keep hearing that there is a housing shortage with not enough homes for rent available to people who need them.
The Department of Work and Pensions are seeking to cut £2 billion from the Housing Benefit budget, and are expecting the poor and needy to bear the brunt of these cuts.
Many people on benefits already live on the bread-line, and with the cost of living going up weekly - and the ever-increasing cost of gas and electricity - how are they expected to cope with these cuts?
This Tory Government seems hell-bent on squeezing every penny they can out of poor and low-income families, while they are forever increasing foreign aid.
Foreign aid is expected to rise to over £12 billion before the end of the year!
It might not be long before we see gangs of bailiffs throwing families on to the street just to please this vile, corrupt Government.
