By Imnokuffar-An Advent of light and shadow for Iraq's Christians, who are celebrating the reopening of the cathedral of Baghdad but at the same time subjected to new - and heavy - threats from a radical Shiite Muslim leader, an Iraqi Ayatollah who launched a fatwa against the religious minority on the eve of Christmas: "Conversion to Islam or death."
In an interview last December 13 on Egyptian television Al Baghdadia, the Shiite ayatollah Ahmad Al Hassani Al Baghdadi issued a fatwa against Christians in Iraq.
Labelling them as "polytheists" and "friends of the Zionists". The extremist leader stressed that they must choose "or Islam or death," while "their women and girls may legitimately be regarded wives of Muslims."
In other-words promoting rape, abduction, slavery, Jizyia payments and heartbreak for Christians completely in accordance with Islamic scripture.
Al Baghdadi is known for his "jihad" positions and for attacking Americans in the past during their presence in the country, and today he lives in Syria, supporting the armed Jihadi opposition - that is also supported by western powers including our government who support and arm these creatures in the name of "Democracy".
Our "enlightened" western leaders obviously have no understanding that Islamic democracy consists of one person, one vote, one time and that their victory means death, imprisonment and the loss of rights for minorities and the opposition and the end of any democratic system as Muslims do not like "man made laws".
However to admit this would be tantamount to Islamophobia and admitting their utter stupidity and culpability in promoting a new version of the old dictatorships.
So these major issues are swept under the carpet. Obama in particular, thinks he can cut a deal with these new regimes and is actively supporting the Morsi government.
He has recently increased aid to Egypt and even given them 20 new F16 fighter jets - of course these will not be used against Israel when the time comes - will they?
Catholic sources in the capital said that it is "a very serious fatwa," but "it is unlikely that people will be upset too much."
The government pays "attention" to these proclamations by extremists, however it is possible that such words could "create panic in some areas of the capital," where there are now "very few" Christians as they have left, been killed or persecuted out of existence.
So I think these Catholic sources are somewhat optimistic or just plain stupid.
This phenomenon of the persecution of Christians/minorities and opposition will gain further ground in Egypt and Syria once the Muslim Brotherhood comes to power as Egypt’s opposition cried fraud in Saturday’s first round of a divisive referendum on a new constitution, accusing President Mohamed Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood of rigging votes to adopt the Islamist-backed text.
But the National Salvation Front opposition coalition did not immediately make good on a threat to call a boycott if it perceived violations, instead stepping up an appeal to Egypt’s 51 million voters to reject the draft charter.
The Front’s allegations, which included unsealed ballot envelopes and a judge preventing Christians from voting at one Cairo polling station, underlined the highly charged conditions in which the two-stage referendum was taking place.
This included three weeks of anti-Morsi protests and clashes in Cairo last week that killed eight people and injured hundreds failed to prevent the referendum going ahead on the draft, largely shaped by Morsi’s Islamist allies.
There are also indirect consequences some of which are unknowable at the present time for western democracies.
The promotion of Sharia Law in Muslim nations will no doubt embolden the radicals in western countries who will see that the leaders of western countries are unaware of the consequences or complicit in the promotion of it.
The moral and political weakness promoted by Multiculturalism and Political Correctness will be further exploited to promote Islam in general.
This could easily lead to more terrorism but on the positive side will also lead to a further growth in Nationalism, particularly in countries such as France and Germany.
I have to make a general point here. I have come to the conclusion that the leaders of virtually all the European nations (and America) are so blinded by Liberalism, Multiculturalism and Political Correctness that they have taken leave of their senses.
They are shepherding their equally clueless flocks (the majorities) towards a terrible fate and when people finally realise what the consequences are this will lead to civil strife on a level unheard of in the west.
I hope I am wrong but the general direction of events seems to point to this outcome particularly if the economic situation does not improve.
The situation in France is probably the most interesting phenomenon as close to 20% of the electorate voted for the Front National, though this has decreased at the present time the indications are that Hollande is proving a disappointment to those who voted for him.
His unvoiced but fervent promise to benefit the Unions and the Muslims (the latter who voted for him en-masse thus guaranteeing his election) have not been kept and his policies are going to lead to the further financial instability for the French. This, hopefully will benefit the FN whose new leader Marine Le Pen is clever and a superb leader.
There can be no doubt that all the nations affected by the so-called "Arab Spring" will head down the road to Sharia Law in various guises.
The economic, political and the effect on the various minorities existing in these nations will be catastrophic.
In particular as the economic systems collapse there will be widespread appropriation (theft) of the assets of the minorities and opposition members as they will be scapegoated for the failures of the new government.
The Western governments who supported and still support the overthrow of so-called "dictators" will have swapped the devil they knew (supported then betrayed) for entities who will make these "dictators" seem enlightened.
