Thirty-nine people have been arrested at the Dale Farm site. The demolition crews have started to demolish the 45 plots that were illegally set up by travellers. Police were met with a barrage of bricks, bottles and iron bars by troublemaking agitators who tried to turn Dale Farm into a war zone. None of those arrested lived on the site.

Around 15 of the people arrested are still in police custody. Twenty-three of the 39 were bailed by police over their part in the violence. At 5 p.m. on Thursday, most of the travellers walked out of the Dale Farm site peacefully.
