The coverage yesterday in Labour's Daily Mirror and other mainstream media outlets provides everybody with a prime example of just why so many people are currently turned off politics.
After the Charlie Hebdo atrocities everyone, Daily Mirror included, trumpeted the importance of free speech and fighting fundamentalism. 
A few weeks down the line we see the very same titles demanding the silencing of dissenting opinions and ruthless adherence to their politically-correct doctrine.
It used to be a one way street, but now independent news sources and social media are gaining the upper hand in trustworthiness and relevance by exposing the hypocrisy, intolerance and bigotry of the mainstream.
Of course it will take time to fully impact but the traditional opinion formers are starting to lose their monopoly fast and they're beginning to panic.
To give you some idea of the potential for political change take a look at today's Telegraph. Here you will see a statistic that's actually quite hard to believe.
Until you realise of course that a large chunk of this number have already voted with their feet and are exactly the kind of people the power structure would prefer suspended in state of disillusionment and consequent disenfranchisement.
Only 15,849 of the estimated 5.5 million Britons overseas were signed up to vote in UK elections as of March 2014, according to the commission.
