Coventry British National Party organiser Tom Gower has been appointed as the West Midlands regional secretary, Alwyn Deacon, that region’s organiser has announced.
Tom Gower“Mr Gower has done an excellent job as organiser in Coventry, and his prior experience as subscriptions and enquiries secretary for the national organisation has made him ideal for the new role,” Mr Deacon said.
The announcement, made at a recent West Midlands management meeting in Stoke-on-Trent, will see Mr Gower will take up this role with immediate effect.
Mr Gower recently moved back to Coventry from the party’s Belfast administration centre and has been based there assisting Mr Deacon with the running of the region.
“My experience in the party’s central office allowed me to gather up valuable skills in data management, fundraising techniques and activist recruitment,” Mr Gower said.
“These techniques have paid off in the party’s Coventry and Warwickshire branches and we have already seen an upturn in activism as more members become involved in local meetings and socials,” he said.
“I hope to utilise similar techniques across the whole of the West Midlands so that we can update all our members on local party events and activities with the aim of continually extending the party’s reach,” Mr Gower said.
