By Giuseppe De Santis – A lot has been said about the failure of the Swiss People’s Party to achieve 30% of the vote (it got 25%) during the federal elections that took place on Sunday 23rd of October in Switzerland to elect the members of the two chambers of the Parliament in Bern. However, it's quite interesting how newspapers in the UK ignored the huge increase in support enjoyed by nationalist parties based in some Swiss cantons bordering Italy and France.
