In this first in a series of articles on Great Britons, we look at one of our most famous and legendary rulers. King Arthur is an intriguing if slightly mysterious figure in British history, largely due to the many legends and myths surrounding him. Modern academics generally refuse to recognise the existence of Arthur, as the Arthurian legends have since been hijacked by pseudoarchaeologists and fringe historians searching for Camelot and the Holy Grail.
