Cumbria County Council “Lose” £53m in Accounting Error!

Huge errors in Cumbria County Council’s (CCC) accounts have been found by the Government’s Audit Commission. Officers checking the figures have discovered that gross expenditure for 2007-8 was over estimated by £53m, Income from fees and charges was £131m less than the accounts showed, but income from Government grants was £78m more than the council thought.

This is the second year in a row that the CCC accounts have contained serious errors, and in truth, it is nothing more than a reflection of the Councils performance in general, according to Clive Jefferson, Cumbrian BNP Press Officer.

The Conservatives control CCC, but only with the backing of some Lib-Dems. That alliance looks set to collapse this week after County council leader Tim Stoddard (Tory) ordered his deputy, Joan Stocker (Lib/Dem), to be relieved of her responsibilities - sacking her via an abrupt email on Saturday, blaming her for the current crisis, prompting a furious Lib Dem reaction.

Joan Stocker is claiming that the Tories have made her a scapegoat for their incompetence and a bitter dispute is still raging with some Conservatives voicing doubts about Stoddard’s “knee jerk” reaction that might very well see the Conservatives lose control of the County just ten months before the vital county elections.

All 32 Conservative councillors have been summoned to a group meeting in Carlisle where they will be asked to endorse Stoddard’s decision to strip Stocker of her office. Stoddard refuses reverse his decision and has told his colleagues “back me or sack me.”

The Liberal Democrats have demanded that Stocker be reinstated and receives an “unequivocal apology”. More talks between the two parties are scheduled but if the Conservatives back Stoddard, the power-sharing arrangement looks doomed. If, on the other hand, councillors agree to reinstate Mrs Stocker, Mr Stoddard is expected to resign.

Whatever the outcome the simple facts remain - Cumbria County Council is in a state of crisis and after watching this debacle unfold this week its very clear why CCC are one of the worst performing councils in the country.

Not a good week to be a County Councillor in Cumbria! Just to add an extra dimension Cumbria BNP are in the process of copying sections of the accounts to scrutinise (Every council in England must “open its books” for inspection once a year).

We have been “pointed in the right direction” by fellow Patriots and apparently our enquiries are causing certain people sleepless nights. All findings will of course be published!

As the nation finally looks set to totally reject New Labour, the above, long term gross mismanagement of the largest county in England is a timely reminder that just because they are not New Labour, it doesn’t mean that Cameron’s “pink” Tories will do any better.

It’s time for a new approach, new people and a new direction, its time for the British National Party to start repairing decades of liberal decay.

Righteous anger & political action:

The British National Party believes in telling the truth, even if it is sometimes uncomfortable to hear or offensive to those who would rather bury their heads in the sand than face real problems in our society. But while we often pass quite critical comment on the impact of immigration, multi-culturalism and alien religions on the indigenous people of our lands, we have no animosity towards immigrants, their descendants or the followers of non-native religions. Nor do we intend to encourage others to feel such animosity, or believe that anything we have to say is likely to 'stir up hatred' against anyone.

In fact, we believe that by providing a peaceful and Constitutional outlet for the anger and the frustration felt by millions of our people over the undemocratic transformation of our country by our political masters, the BNP actually defuses tensions. Where there is 'hate' we seek to turn it into righteous anger and political action against the only people who deserve to be hated - the politicians who use our taxes to turn our country into a place where we often feel like strangers in our own land.

We must careully look at the facts! the Conservative Party are unable to balance their own finances as they are reported to be £7.75 million in debt.

How then can we expect them to rum a county, never mind a country!

It is nice of them to show you why you must vote BNP.

The CCCR getting up to its tricks again, this time in the guise of the other two of its three dogheads. Good to see them snapping at each other. Even a nice sop of 53 million pounds doesn’t seem to incline them to lay off each other. Dogs quarrelling over a nice juicy bone while the third one has probably crept in and stolen it. Aesop would probably be able to make good use of this material.

These shambolic standards are replicated throughout liblabcon and our people, who are taxed to the hilt by these squabbling imbeciles, are entitled to have this further example of gross incompetence publicised as widely as possible by our Party.
So well done, Cumbria BNP for taking a closer look at the accounts. Perhaps this type of economic news may be thought not to have the same impact on the public as “human interest” stories, but the growing awareness that liblabcon are even incapable of the routine task of producing honestly balanced books will tell people that they are incapable of running a WI tea stall, let alone the country.
Well done, BNP, and keep after this.

The money was not actually “lost” it was an accounting error… as it all nets off.

So, in the grand scheme it’s not a major thing.

What is a major thing, is the government PFI and all the sale and lease back of healthcare and everything else. The government has locked the British taxpayer into contracts with the private sector that last 25 years, even worse at the end of the 25 years the government has NO ASSETS to show for it. Before it owned the vast majority of those assets.

Why the hell isn’t the public’s pension fund owning governmental buildings. There should be a direct relationship and would be financially more efficient. It seems the government prefers to play with exotic and financially toxic derivatives. Muppets.

Make no doubt about it, all this government “outsourcing” and “Public Finance Initiatives” does not stop governmental incompetence.. It simply rolls up the next 25 years of poor management into one contract.

Councils, Utilities, Central government are all fleecing the British taxpayer.

The lower the tax, the more democratic a society is. People should be free to choose what to spend their very own money on.

Labour does not support the working class British, that is clear. Traitors to the Unions and those that built this great country.

As I’ve mentioned before, keep looking at the expenses and remember what sunk Al Capone.
