It is with great sadness I write these words on the passing of David John Wood. David was the Bolton fund holder and stood as a candidate for the Party, most recently in the Tonge with the Haulgh ward, where he polled a very respectable 517 votes. I had the privilege of working with David many times when we went to help in by-elections around the country. He was an excellent ambassador for the Party when out leafleting. David was always ready to stop and talk to people, and spoke of the Party in a most positive manner.
He was also a talented musician and performed at the last North West fundraiser in Stockport.
David was diagnosed with cancer in May, and although very ill, he still wanted to do what he could for his country in what little time he had left. He was kind enough to help in a Stockport by-election, by designing and printing 4,000 leaflets, when he could have easily said: “I’m not up to it”. He rang me just two weeks before he died to ask if the Party could collect some equipment from his home so it could be put to good use. He was a true patriot to the end and will be sadly missed by all.
David’s wish was that any flowers or donations should be sent to Cancer Research.
(Obituary by NW regional secretary Duncan Warner)
The attached image is of David performing at a BNP fundraiser on 6th October 2007 in Stockport. David really was a “diamond in the rough” and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

May he rest in peace, along with that other great patriot Graham John.
Very sad news BNP-Another good British Nationalist that will be missed…Condolences to his family and friends…R.I.P
Farewell Mr. Wood…..safe journey!
He died before he could see the victory. A great shame. He now joins the list of honour. Men and Women patriots of the British National Party. They may be dead, but their names live on in our hearts and in our Great Struggle.
Condolences from the Black Country branch. This man was a credit, and proof positive that the party has within it’s rank, men of true honour.
God bless you friend and patriot.
They dont make them like they used to !!
Perhaps we can have a moment’s silence at summer camp this year for David and our other members we have lost.
Please give my condolences to his family.
God bless David Wood. My thoughts are deeply with the family.
Ed I think a roll of honour would be nice for our comrades that have fell during the line of our historic duty.
God bless the British National Party and all around her that fell in the cause of taking back our country and our home.
Rest proud and easy in the knowledge that you were brave enough to help start the work that will one day save our country from the abyss.
I am absolutely devastated by this news. Dave was not only a staunch patriot and a tireless activist, but he was also a true friend.
Dave’s genius was his ability to maintain enthusiasm and good humour in the face of adversity. He was also a man of huge courage.
He was completely undaunted by the abuse he received from Labour types when he became the first ever BNP council candidate in Bolton, even though he lived in the heart of a Muslim area. The pygmies of the Left tried every trick and criminal strategem to intimidate him, but Dave just laughed it off. “They clearly don’t know me” he said.
The very day his last illness was confirmed, I was amazed to find Dave still in great spirits. Although gravely ill, he’d been out leafleting for hours and had spotted a note stuck on someone’s letter box: “BNP leaflets only please”. Dave said seeing that had made his day - that was typical of him.
There are a hundred other stories about David Wood to tell, and they will be re-told wherever BNP activists gather, because we will never forget him.
He was one of the best.
Farewell mate.

While I knew that David was very ill, it was still very sad to hear of his untimely passing. Apart from his tremendous dedication and work-rate, David also stood out for his good-humour and ‘can-do’ spirit. And he was a live performer, in an age dominated by people who sit slumped waiting for others to entertain them.
All in all, a sad loss to the BNP in Bolton, and the North West in general. For all the good work and growth going on in the region at present, David will leave a gap we will not be able to fill. We’ll find another fund-holder, but we won’t find another David Wood.
Thanks to Regional Secretary Duncan Warner for a rapid and well-constructed obituary.

I never knew David, but I am very saddened that we in the BNP have lost a very popular and dedicated patriot.
My sympathies go to his family and friends, as this has all happened so quickly and will have been a terrible shock to them.
RIP David, we did not know him personally, but respected him greatly as a true supporter and friend of our people. Our sincere sympathy to his family and friends.
God bless you David and thank you for all you have done.
PORTSMOUTH GROUP
RIP David, this man started something in Bolton that most people were frightened of doing at the time. You will be missed but never forgotten.
God Bless his family.
Very sad news. cant think of anything to say. RIP Brother.
God bless David, sincere condolences to your family. BNP FOREVER!
Although I never knew David, I get an idea of the sort of man he was from what people have said here and know that this is the type of Quiet Hero the Quiet Revolution attracts and needs. A sad loss for his family, for the BNP and thus for all true and loyal Brits. “Let it shine all around you and let it spread from you in ever widening circles.”
As Dave’s election agent, I witnessed his courage and dedication to the cause at first hand. It was an honour to work with him. My condolences go to his family.
Marsh. Bolton group.
A true Nationalist torch-bearer has died. Because of people like him, there are plenty left behind to carry on the fight. My condolences and best wishes to his family.
We’ll carry on fighting the good fight David, for you and yours.
Rest in peace, assured that your memory lives on forever.
For David and his family we all know we have to die, it is what we do before we meet our maker that is important. A person who dedicates his life to making Britain safe for us, for making Britain a Christian country regardless of creed, for making Britain an independent nation enshrined in freedom and democracy then his life has been a triumph. I will pray for him at Mass. RIP.
