In an article in the Sun newspaper yesterday it was reported that General Sir David Richards, Commander-in-Chief of Land Forces, had revealed, in an interview withan internal Ministry of Defence journal, a plan to recruit more Muslims into the British Army.
To quote General Richards: “There is an appreciation on our part that the Army would be better getting more Muslims into our ranks.” An MoD source revealed Bradford, West Yorks, would be the first area targeted.

Only yesterday we reported on the lunacy of training Islamic students to fly light aircraft, now we have to report on this ‘criminal’ folly! How can a senior Army General, clearly in cahoots with the M.O.D., come up with this equally stupid idea. It simply beggars belief!
Maybe the General would like to explain to Keith Brown’s family (along with too many others) who have had their husband and father murdered, by a Muslim, just why they should feel safer to know that whilst their grief is still raw, the British Army, will be training other Muslims in their area to become ever more proficient killers!
And whilst he’s at it, General Richards might care to take a moment to explain to all those Britons who have lost loved ones fighting Muslims in Afghanistan, just how he can justify the British Army training Muslims, within Britain, to become better equipped to participate in a future Jihad - against the British people!!!!

Has General Sir David Richards ever heard of something called a “Fifth Column”. If even senior military men are listening to the Lib/Lab/Con alliance and their PC nonsense then we are in even greater need of a BNP presence in Parliament than I thought.
Leaving aside the fifth column aspect (which should, in itself, bar Muslims from joining our armed forces) have any senior figures in the army seriously considered what would happen if large numbers of Muslims in our army were taken to Iraq or Afghanistan and asked to fire on and kill people they regard as their “brothers”?
I would describe it as madness. Unfortunately I believe this is part of a much larger plan to destabilise this country. Only one party is standing up for native Brits at the moment, only one party would ensure that idiocy like this would not be allowed. Those who keep voting for the Lib/Lab/Con alliance can expect much more of this nonsense.

I have to admit that after an odd start, this book does pick up the pace. It isn’t bad writing, it’s just the really silly assumptions and bad research which let it down. Where to start…OK, First, Islam isn’t a unified faith - Sunni and Shi’ite hate each other more than they hate infidels. The idea of a unified Arabia is therefore ridiculous . Second, they could not have got their act together to build that superstate in such a short time….12 years? Come on! The author seemed to gloss over Israel, forget that France and the UK have nuclear weapons, and the USA is saved by extraterrestrial energy. It makes the rest of the story a bit hard to swallow. Then there is the jump from the supposedly fair and equitable Sharia based Islamic country to the divided and iniquitous society of the future without any explanation - the description of consolidation after the invasion gave no hint that this would be the result. Am I being too harsh? Possibly, it was still an exciting read. I just had to cringe every so often!

On the armed forces it hopefully isn’t as bleak as you fear, Shropshire Lass. Fact is we are now at war with unspecified numbers of Pakistanis in Helmand, where the Taliban manpower pool is over the non-existent border with Pakistan. The attitude of the Pakistani authorities to the Taliban is at best equivocal, though devious and untrustworthy might be a better way of putting it. The Taliban were the creation of the Pakistani secret service, the ISI.
In these circumstances it is hardly likely that Muslims youths from Bradford will be flocking to the recruitment office to fight on our side against their “Muslim brothers”. This is very fortuitous and is the only positive aspect of the stupid wars this idiotic government has insisted on fighting in the Islamic world, though it is a very big plus indeed.

Thing is Muslims will NEVER join the British Army because of current operations, which is good. Plus a lot of servicemen like myself, have fought and in 300 cases died fighting muslims and terrorists ‘protecting’ this country from international terrorism. Yes, the Army is PC on the outside, but on the inside all that goes. We have no problems with commonwealth soldiers, black, white, asian etc.. we do get them. But it is the muslim soldiers we can’t trust.
If I was to go to Iraq with a muslim soldier watching my back, I would be scared.
One of, if not the main, cause of the Indian Mutiny was said to be the fact that cartridges used pork fat, and this meant that Muslim troops didn’t want to bite the end off the cartridge. Perhaps we ought to include pork fat in modern cartridges that might stop Muslims from joining up.
The Americans have already tried this: it resulted in
1) secrets and technical information being given to enemy states and
2) cases of Muslim soldiers “unexpectedly” tossing grenades into the canteen whilst their unarmed “colleagues” were eating!
Muslims should never be put into positions where the trust and safety of non-Muslims is an issue.
Perhaps the UK government should just let Muslims have control over our nukes - just to see how much trust there really is!

Funny you should mention that, odin. At the Labour Party Conference held in March at the Birmingham ICC there were lookouts on the rooftops. There were maybe 15-20 officers at the front of the building and in the square outside armed with H&K automatic weapons. There were a couple of black officers, the rest were white, and apparently not a Muslim to be seen. Our precious Prime Minister and his friends are very vigilant as regards their own safety. Funny that, you would have expected them to be falling over themselves to demonstrate their faith in diversity. And what better way to do it than be guarded by Islamic police officers? Still, never mind, always next year if they stagger on that long.
Incidentally the security was so heavy this Party Conference didn’t look like a healthy democracy in action. It looked like a police state in operation.

The proposal must have come from the EU, surely General Richards is not that certifiably insane to even suggest anything as crazy as this. If he is, then, in the interests of the country and the armed forces, he should be removed forthwith. It is like suggesting the recruitment of German citizens into the British armed forces during WW2.

I seem to remember Brian Gerrish talking about Common Purpose and saying he had evidence of a senior military officer attending a meeting of these subversive fifth-columnists. If this is the case, then these are very dangerous times indeed.
Another point, I remember reading about an American Muslim soldier serving in Iraq, who threw hand grenades into the mess tent killing a number of his “comrades”. I think this happened last year sometime
but this story seems to have just disappeared. Can anyone recall this incident or its outcome?

The soldier in question was court-martialed, but I don’t know the outcome. At least one officer was calling for him to be executed. Perhaps someone else has more.–Ed.

Aren’t our brave soldiers in enough danger as it is? It is Muslims they are fighting, yet some idiot wants Muslims to fight alongside our soldiers. So many times I have read that Muslims from places like Birmingham and Bradford are already in places like Iraq killing our brave soldiers. As if our soldiers do not have a hard enough time as it is. Muslims are not English, not even British for that matter, and have no place amongst our soldiers.
We already have “black police officers” and “Muslim police officers” Associations of Britain, [but no white equivalents}, so what’s the betting that the armed forces officers would rapidly follow suit? The criminal stupidity of this government must have our potential enemies in the Middle East giggling like schoolkids.
Any one who is nursing hopes of a military coup in this country had better hope it happens BEFORE these crackpot plans are put in place. But surely, it’s all just a silly hoax. ISN’T IT??
