BNP’s Charity Work Shows Party In Its True Light

AFTER the British National Party’s newspaper, Freedom, reported on a meeting of Solihull BNP where the guest speaker, Gill Bailey, spoke of the plight of one of the British Army’s finest fighting forces, the Gurkhas, readers rallied around to help.

Gill, who is 61 years-old, was raising funds for the Gurkhas by doing a sponsored ‘wing-walk’ which involved standing on the wing of a plane whilst it is taking off, then flying around and landing.

“These men have been abandoned by this Labour Government after having served this country loyally for 200 years,” she told the meeting.
“I am a ‘virgin’ wing walker and must admit I am scared silly, but I feel so strongly about the sad situation these brave men are in that I feel I have to banish those fears.”

Freedom’s readers were moved by Gill’s plea and despite the credit crunch gave nearly £200, all in small donations, to her Gurkha appeal.

It was the BNP’s candidate for Knowle, Frank O’Brien, a charity fundraiser himself and the Assistant Organiser for Solihull BNP, who handed over the cheques and cash to Gill and he explained to the BNP website a little more about the Party’s charity work.

“Our association with charities such as Troop Aid and The Gurkha Trust Fund shows the British National Party in its true light as an organisation that looks after the interests of the British people and those who loyally serve our country.

“My involvement began with Troop Aid over a year ago, when I found out, through Ray Warren the Troop Aid founder, that the Labour Government did not give any assistance to the families of injured soldiers to visit them at the Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham.

“For example, if a soldier is wounded in a firefight in Iraq or Afghanistan, depending on the severity of the wound, they would be given morphine to knock them out. The next time they wake up is in Selly Oak hospital, still in their battle fatigues and with no change of clothes, no toothbrush etc. It is Troop Aid that supplies all of these basic needs - not our Government!

“Initially I just raised funds myself, but then I approached our local BNP fundraiser, Alan Ashmore who is a prolific charity fund-raiser himself having raised over £30,000 for the Marie Curie Trust Fund. I arranged a meeting with Ray Warren and Alan Ashmore and at that meeting Alan kindly agreed to raise funds for Troop Aid.

“At Selly Oak hospital there were no facilities available for visiting relatives, i.e. if a relative wanted to stay close to a loved one this was impossible. In the space of 24 hours Alan raised £1,200 which allowed us to build a special facility in the hospital so that families were able to stay. To date Alan has raised approximately £3,000 and South Birmingham BNP organiser Mike Bell is also involved and he has raised £1,500 through fundraising events.

“Word spread on local grapevine of the BNP’s fundraising potential and I was approached by Gill Bailey on behalf of the Gurkha Trust Fund. We are now in the process of raising money for these brave soldiers. In the last 24 hours I have been approached by a representative of the Downs Syndrome Society and they have asked me, as a representative of the British National Party, for help.”

Righteous anger & political action:

The British National Party believes in telling the truth, even if it is sometimes uncomfortable to hear or offensive to those who would rather bury their heads in the sand than face real problems in our society. But while we often pass quite critical comment on the impact of immigration, multi-culturalism and alien religions on the indigenous people of our lands, we have no animosity towards immigrants, their descendants or the followers of non-native religions. Nor do we intend to encourage others to feel such animosity, or believe that anything we have to say is likely to 'stir up hatred' against anyone.

In fact, we believe that by providing a peaceful and Constitutional outlet for the anger and the frustration felt by millions of our people over the undemocratic transformation of our country by our political masters, the BNP actually defuses tensions. Where there is 'hate' we seek to turn it into righteous anger and political action against the only people who deserve to be hated - the politicians who use our taxes to turn our country into a place where we often feel like strangers in our own land.

My, my, what an unusual story. The BNP, ‘racist, goose-stepping Nazi knuckledraggers’ helping out some dark-skinned foreigners. Can it be?

I hope the liberal left luvvies choke on their latte’s this morning. One Gurkha is priceless, certainly worth more than £30 million that is freely given to Hamas - oops, Palestinians.

How can Brown give away £30 mllion to the Palestinians yet the poor Gurkhas don’t get a penny? Wake up Britain and see the BNP for what we are! Your country needs you fast!

I had a schoolmaster who fought in Burma. He used to regale us with stories of the Gurkhas. He had nothing but high praise for them. He told us the Japs were terrified of them. I have also seen them in civvy street, extremely smart and well turned out. A credit to themselves. Not what I can say about immigrants or many Brits come to that. What a shoddy way we treat OUR ex soldiers.

Was always thus: Those who help us get a kick in the backside. Those who cause problems are bought off

The thirty million pounds to Palestine is extra funding. The total yearly figure is nearer ninety million pounds. Eight hundred and fifty million to India who are out performing us economically and who will soon, with China, be the biggest economies in the world. Good old Gordon. He really is a lunatic.

what is so utterly crazy is that he will be borrowing the money, on our behalf and obviously without our consent, to give away. Christ said that you should give all you have to the poor. But he didn’t say that you should borrow it and then give it away. Mad, quite, mad as Enoch once said - Ed

I heard on the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation’s radio 4 news item that McBroon’s gift of £30 million of money (that will no doubt have to be added to our national debt mountain that nulabour has created) to the Palestinians brings the total he’s given them to £250 million. And almost the next news item was that they are withdrawing funding for NHS drugs for rheumatoid arthritis sufferers!!!

Let’s hope those same rheumatoid arthritis sufferers at least have the good sense to start voting for the BNP to ease their pain - Ed

Wonderful news. In Llanelli, there are plenty of Gurkhas working as bus drivers. No trouble on their buses. I wonder if we can shame New Labour into giving them their fair dues? However I doubt it, since there is no money left after they’ve spent millions on their stupid wars and, of course, the Joint Tenancy Agreement. Quiz any New Labour councillor on that one and watch the mist in their eyes.

Makes for an interesting contrast with Portsmouth Council’s initial refusal for a donation to a ‘Heros’ charity. They initially refused because it might upset Afghan or Iraqi ethnic minorities.

I recognise that the Gurkhas, are a great fighting force, and brave men. But let’s not get carried away! They are not “British”. Let’s be honest, they are “mercenaries” and would fight for any nation that would pay them! Indeed, I believe they fight for about 6 different countries around the world. I’m not being hard when I say that Britain does not owe these people anything? They got their wages when they served didn’t they? Now, when they reach retirement, they have to leave. Or are you advocating that we let all these ex Gurkhas stay in Britain? Maybe the Fijian, and West Indians that are serving in the “British Army” in large numbers; should they stay too? Let’s not get sentimental over this Gurkha situation. Smack’s of political correctness to me!

    -

I suppose we all did it for the money RB but I never thought of myself as a mercenary! I think we do owe them some debt of assistance to resettle back in Nepal or Bhutan when their service ends. They know they have no right to settle here - Ed

How the hell can we give all this aid to these other countries like India & Pakistan? These countries have nuclear weapons! We are so stupid.

No politics, not for this, not here, just a BIG well done thank you.

@Robert Blatchford: I haven’t seen many Iranians, Iraqis (or Arabs in general) serving Britain with such loyalty either! I’ve seen them swarming all over the local hospital, doctors, housing benefits, housing office, welfare office, child benefits, local courts, police cells! NOT many of them going back home to aid the armed forces - although quite a few of them have gone back to fight against our lads. These people are swarming all over Britain, and they’re not British. These immigrants in my opinion are taking the homes, jobs, welfare benefits, hospitals, doctor’s jobs and child care away from the people who TRULY deserve our gratitude and thanks for their unselfish devotion to this country!

  14. NukeLabour on July 23rd, 2008 9:35 pm

The way the Gurkhas have been treated is a disgrace. This country owes these fine people more than just a thank you & good bye. This corrupt Government would have no problem in finding money for bogus asylum seekers who would come over here simply to live off us, while at the same time slag off our way of life.
