A Million Plus Spent On Interpreter Services in Derbyshire Alone!
Regular visitors to this and our Regional Voices site, will be aware of Derby BNP’s attempts to discover how much public money has been spent by the local authority on funding interpreter services to migrants and alleged “asylum seekers”. Amazingly the answer would appear to be around £200,000 over the last four reported fiscal years!
Our Derbyshire correspondent writes:
“I received the following response from Derby City Council. In three years the costs of translation and interpreter services have seen more than a 7 fold increase! Obviously some costs are hidden within other departments, and further research exceeds the time limit imposed under the Freedom of Information (FOI) request. Just makes you wonder how much in costs have been hidden!
So, adding in the figures previously obtained from Derby Health Trust and Derbyshire Constabulary, we arrive at a figure in the region of £800.000 of public money spent over four years, by just these three public authorities, on the provision of interpreter services within the county!
If we add in the hidden and shared costs and the costs of other Derbyshire NHS trusts and local councils, it must certainly be the case that the true cost of funding this aspect of multiculturalism exceeds £1,000,000 for the county.
Derby Council’s verbatim response was:
Your request for information has now been considered and the information requested and our response is as follows:-
In the previous financial years the following amounts have been charged to cost code “Translations and interpreters”:
2007/08 £82k
2006/07 £50k
2005/06 £48k
2004/05 £11k
Please note that these figures will not accurately reflect all the expenditure that the Council will have incurred on these services as there may be costs of this nature charged to different cost codes. To provide a total figure would require a significant amount of work, which we estimate will be more than 18 hours.
As a result we are unable to provide a more accurate figure. This is because the cost of locating and retrieving the information exceeds the ‘appropriate limit’ as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
An estimated £1,000,000 of public money spent in Derbyshire alone on interpreter services – what’s the cost for the whole of Britain we wonder?”
We congratulate Derby BNP on this excellent piece of public-interest research.

If these migrants and alleged “asylum seekers” want interpreters, why can’t they pay for the services themselves?
Why do we have to have interpreters? They can speak English when they want benefits; the only time they can’t seem to speak English is when they are asked to give something back. Round them up, lock them up and repatriate them before we get even more swamped.
Here’s something that will help explain our nation’s collective stupidity. It’s by Kenneth Minogue, who is Emeritus Professor of Political science at the London School of Economics. It is entitled “Are the British a Servile People? Idealism and the EU.” It starts:
“The betrayal of democracy by Gordon Brown’s government in refusing to honour the New Labour Election Manifesto commitment to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, will certainly become an issue at the next election. Indeed, if Britain is to remain a free and independent democracy, the betrayal must be the basic issue of that contest; for it is at the heart of the moral corruption that has overtaken our political process in the last generation. The feebleness of British governments since Margaret Thatcher, in defending British interests against the encroachment of Brussels, is undoubtedly the most revealing fact about the politics of our generation. In this short argument, I suggest some ways in which that feebleness might be analysed…”

Another example of the costs of our Ethnic Enrichment Industry. Why then do the LiblabCon Artists tell us it is beneficial?
Why can’t asylum seekers apply by post from outside the UK? They can usually afford the air fare to travel across the world to our ‘insane, free, hand-out society’!
More votes for the BNP Please!
Well done Derby BNP. Heres something else into which you might like to delve: A magistrate approached us to express his disillusionment at the abuse of our legal system. His example concerned an Eastern European “gentleman” who was found guilty of an offence and fined. The man didn’t pay the fine ,so was hauled back in front of the magistrates, whereupon he was allowed to pay in weekly installments. Again he did not pay, so he was brought in again. This time the magistrates vastly reduced the fine to something the man could afford. This allowed the court to claim fines are being paid and the “system” is working. Unfortunately for us, every time the offender attended court so did his interpreter and solicitor, sitting around for most of the day at our expense. Nice work if you can get it.

Sounds to me like the magistrate is ripe for recruiting for BNP membership. Did you happen to mention that?–Ed.
Huge bills for translation services are just one of the many costs that are not taken into account by the fools and liars who parrot the ‘economic benefits’ of the continuing insane levels of immigration.
I personally know “real British” war veterans and pensioners–”the real vulnerable” who are almost on their knees. They cannot afford even a balanced diet. And whilst many immigrants o are reared to hate us, destroy our nation, rape and murder like it’s the norm, yet they are given money hand over fist. Our money!
I spoke to another motor dealer last week regarding the cars-for-immigrants saga. The latest figure given out from the DHSS instead of taxi fairs is £4,500 per individual immigrant. I remember being 16 years old with no home, no money, queuing up at the DHSS for a crisis loan–they gave me £10.50 after a 4-hour wait, and then it was deducted from my money over a period of 4 weeks!
Save our country, wake up and support and vote BNP! It is an absolute fact that no other person or party will look after our interests better and with more pride. The contrast to the other parties is incredible!!! The biggest problem is that many of the old Labour voters come from such good fabric and moral standings that they stay loyal, no matter what. They really need educating before their ignorance comes falling down around their ears!!
Tens of thousands of migrants will be offered ‘fast-track’ British passports every year in return for doing voluntary work. The foreign nationals will be allowed to slash up to two years off the time it takes to win citizenship, in return for completing community work, charity fundraising, working as a school governor or running a children’s sports team. The plan, to be unveiled by the Home Office next week, is designed to meet Gordon Brown’s declaration that citizenship must be ‘earned’.

I can see some major flaws in this insane plan can anyone else?

Let’s see: we have mothers being told they can’t accompany their own disabled children in school-funded taxis because they haven’t been vetted by the police. And all these immigrants running childrens’ sports teams will get fast-track vetting? What’s wrong with this picture. I won’t even begin to write about my own experiences…–Ed.
That money could have saved a lot of mortgage repossessions! it could have set up a task force to save our children from “Grooming” by Pakistani Muslims. It could have prolonged the life of some cancer sufferers who probably paid it in in taxes! it could have given people corneas. It could have kept our old warm. BNP 4 me. Get rid of this shower of thieves, liars and buggers.
We have to argue our point all day every day ’til we get through. There are two choices–more (and worse) of the same, or change. The only change for the better is to VOTE BNP.
This cannot be considered purely public interest work. It is a necessity that the people of Derbyshire are made aware of how their hard-paid tax is being spent. You would think in this day and age Derbyshire City Council would be able to produce accurate figures for Interpreter Services–after all this financial information is kept on a computerized spreadsheet. In effect, they should be able to get all the financial data together and produce complete, accurate set of figures for Interpreter Services within minutes. It sounds like they want to hide the true costs to avoid embarrassment! Anyway, I thought they had to provide a complete and satisfactory response if this information was applied for under the Freedom of Information Act. Refusing to provide compete information because of the amount of work (18hrs estimate) would constitute a breech of the act surely.
More waste of public money: Mayor of London Ken Livingstone ’squandered millions of pounds’ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/2302818/Mayor-of-London-Ken-Livingstone-%27squandered-millions-of-pounds%27.html
No surprise there. Livingstone and his corrupt cronies should be prosecuted.
Perhaps if the request has been submitted in Urdu the full costs would have been revealed post-haste.
My mother had to go into hospital recently for a knee op. After waiting in an orderly queue with others for the ward to open at 8am, a group of Asians tried to barge through to the front as the doors opened. Thankfully, the nursing staff sent them to the back. While my mother was being clerked, the Asian family were all in the next bed space. Their patient was one of the women and she was being communicated to through one of the Asian men, a clerking nurse and an interpreter. They were making so much noise that my mother, who is deaf, couldn’t be clerked at the same time as she couldn’t hear what the nurse was asking her.
After the operation, the Asian woman was lying in her bed, after all the others who had had similar ops were up. She refused to get up, telling the nurse, in perfectly good English and on her own without any Asian men to help her, that she was not ready to get up yet. Only a couple of hours before, she had needed an expensive NHS funded interpreter to get her through a few basic questions.
On the other hand, maybe I have got the wrong end of the stick and she had just had pioneering new language implantation surgery and my mother was witnessing the first success! This should therefore reduce the need for any more interpreters and the NHS will be saved.
HURRAH!
