FOR the first time ever, the British National Party has a full slate of local election candidates in Southend-on-Sea.
Last year, the local BNP branch contested seven seats, so to be able to cover every ward this time around just goes to show how much progress has been made by the Party in this traditional White flight area of Essex.
In May 2007, BNP candidates finished second in two seats but a long way behind the victorious Tory candidates, so the target for May 1st is to reduce these Conservative majorities. On paper, at least, it seems that the seat where the BNP could be the most competitive will be St Luke’s ward where our candidate Fenton Bowley, will be looking to build on the Party’s 442 votes from last year. It’s a marginal with Labour and the Tories neck and neck 340-odd votes ahead of us.
Keith Thompson from Southend BNP reports to the website on the campaign:
“The election is going very well here with the leaflet bashing ahead of schedule. There have been two local hustings where community associations invited candidates to present their policies. Step forward two new BNP members representing the Party as candidates for the first time. They both did well and received a warm round of applause at each meeting.
“We even had a vicar and his wife out leafleting for us last week and they, along with all of our hardworking activists, received a good reception as we made our rounds. The local newspapers are mostly reasonable except for The Echo which has always been biased against us.
“One good spin-off from the election effort is that although we initially intended to campaign in four wards - as that is as much as we were able to manage in Southend - our candidates in the other wards have come forward wanting to put out their own leaflets. To be able to do this they have enrolled the help of families and friends. As polling day gets ever closer, the excitement generated by the election grows and although some of our candidates have never been involved any active political campaigning before, they are now working hard to try and secure a respectable vote.
“Whatever the results, the British National Party in Southend-on-Sea is going to come out of these local elections much stronger than it went into them.”

Don’t forget the BNP party election broadcast will be screened, peak time, on BBC1 on April 21 at the BBC1 18:55.
Good luck to all the BNP candidates.

Thanks for the reminder, BB - Ed
I note from the figures given above that nowhere has a BNP candidate come in last and the party has come in ahead of Labour, UKIP, Lib-Dem, Green and Independent in various wards. So why is BNP, as a legitimate, legal and successful political party, denied air time and subjected to continuous vilification and abuse?
If only voters from the least representative parties would take the bull by the horns and make that leap of faith into the welcoming arms of the only party with the will and determination to do something about their woes.
Why, indeed! The Mainstream Media (MSM) and their political/Big Business paymasters are terrified of us, that’s why! We are the only party telling the truth, folks, and it scares the hell out of them. They will continue to give us the absolute minimum coverage that they deem appropriate, which, of course, is nowhere near proportional to the level of public support and interest–there’s democracy for you–NOT!-Ed
Great news!. This is an area where the BNP should do very well as it is a white flight area. However it is also an area that should sound alarm bells for the future.
The original indigenous occupants of the East End saw their area swamped by immigrants and moved further eastwards to places like Barking and Dagenham to escape them. Those people and their children are now seeing Barking and Dagenham being swamped by immigrants and are moving even further eastwards to places like Southend to escape them once again.
However they cannot go any further east if the same thing happens as east of Southend is the sea!. This truly is the point where a line has to be drawn in the sand and the indigenous people have to say enough is enough. Having been to Southend recently there are already signs that immigrants are beginning to move in so there is no time to waste.
There is only one party that speaks up for the indigenous majority. The Lib/Lab/Con alliance are working towards “culturally enriching” all areas of the country. What happens when there are no white areas left for the whites to flee to?.
If only it were possible to wave a magic wand and all Tory voters were suddenly made aware that there is no difference between the Lib/Lab/Con axis of evil. Alas it isn’t. Best of British luck to all candidates in Southend. VOTE BNP.
The Muslims consistently state that they want to push Israel (the only true Nationalist state in the world) into the sea.
It seems that they are doing the same with our boys and girls in Southend.
Good luck BNP candidates, give the lib/lab/con trick a bloody nose.
I counted the seats as 9 Con, 2 Lab, 4 Lib dems in 2007, plus 2 Independents each with hefty majorities whom I would guess must be popular local people. It looks quite a varied borough but with a firm Tory majority (of 1). It doesn’t look typical ‘white flight’ to me, but rather containing people who through skill, luck, doing local traditional work, taking advantage of property prices, or whatever, made money and moved there, and are are predominantly conservative — the Tory majorities are huge. It looks as though only the wards where the voting is fairly evenly split give much scope for the BNP in 3 wards. If Lab lose one to BNP, the BNP might have a casting vote IF the Tories lose a seat; otherwise the Tories will remain a majority. It depends on what the voters think of “Call me Dave” and whether they believe he will change things, or agree with Maurice Oatley (above) that he would more or less equal Gordon Brown. And it depends on the personal qualities of the candidates, because when people want change they’ll go for personality rather than nominal party. And it also depends on non-voters deciding, for once, to vote. Only ten days to go…
All our Best Wishes to all in Southend from North Wales. We have already 7 seats in the bag with hopes of more. This where it was said that there would never ever be any BNP elected representatives. Our Welsh LibLabConmen have joined Plaid Cymru in the Welsh Communist Searchlight Cymru to dish out Propaganda.
Hwll Fawr Southend.
