The Establishment closing ranks? We learn from today’s Independent:
“Scotland Yard is by no means the first to deliver a scathing assessment of MPs’ free-and-easy expenses arrangements. But its complaint that the lax procedures have ruled out a criminal inquiry into disgraced Derek Conway may well end up etched on the system’s gravestone. Neither the public nor the overwhelming majority of Parliamentarians seem to believe that the Commons can continue to run on the basis of “gentlemen’s agreements” - where the word of a Member is considered beyond question. The case of Mr Conway cast the almost unassailable status of MPs into sharp relief, and confirmed all the worst suspicions of voters.”
No police investigation – oh, what a surprise! Remind us again how much a document shredder costs at John Lewis!

Derek Conway, you may have got away with it for now, but we will make sure you are always remembered as the dishonest crook that you are–along with the other self-serving crooks that are the MPs in Parliament.
Hmmm - it’s that Common Purpose malarkey yet again. The CPS being its ‘non-prosecution of graduates’ arm.
It doesn’t give you much confidence for anything much happening about this -

This certainly stinks of “Common Purpose, Friends-Ed
£50 for the shredder - must be top of the range model designed with constant use in mind. It probably even has ‘By appointment to Her Majesty’s Government - Shredders of the Awkward Truth Limited’ on the box. The fact that Conway is still being paid his salary and all the other ‘allowances’ says much about what the Mother of Parliaments now stands for - a cesspit of amoral cheats and liars. Revenge at the ballot box will be sweet indeed.
Unaccountable, totalitarian fascism. Vote Liblabcon yet again if it’s what you want. Otherwise, wake up!–there is no excuse anymore!
Oh yes? Next our PC police will be telling us that rapists, murderers and terrorists have lifestyles that are too chaotic and unsystematic to merit an investigation.

This looks just like Blair’s suppression of the BAE/Saudi bribery scandal investigation as “not being in the public interest.” Then there was cash-for-honours investigation, which the Common Purpose-infiltrated CPS also managed to bury. Lord Hutton’s David Kelly “suicide” enquiry whitewash was yet another cover-up. No surprise at all, therefore, that Derek Conway should be fully protected against any prosecution for his criminal activities which after, after all, only the tip of a monstrous iceberg. After his repeated, scathing attacks on the LibLabConEUIslamist gang’s anti-BNP vote-rigging scam, Judge Mawrey would do well to watch his back.
Mr J - yes, and those pigs were more equal than others.
And the result in Havering will send shivers down the spines [?], of the treacherous liars and thieves at Whitehall, and the p.c. police…
THE BRITISH PEOPLE ARE SICK TO DEATH OF YOU!
Mr J - yes, and those pigs were more equal than others.

Your most apposite coment, Lickyalips, reminded me of this quote from Animal Farm:
Squealer: “Comrades!” he cried. “You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organization of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples.”
That explains it! The Westminster Swine are claiming all these expenses for our benefit. Well, how good of them.
Oh, and BTW, “Remind us again how much a document shredder costs at John Lewis!” ROFL

You wouldn’t expect an Hon Member to buy the 30 quid one surely?
Some very amusing comments on this post made me chuckle. Its nice that we can and do. They will remove that right when they feel that they can get away with it. I somehow feel that day is slowly becoming beyond their reach, but one must never become too confident. THEIR CRIMES ARE SERIOUS AND THEY ARE DESPERATE. Because of that I believe that we are taking notes and names. Because when we can, we will be asking questions….
There was a time when nobody was above the law. Whatever has happened to our police force? Are they corrupt too? Oh to go back 30-odd years when cops were respected even by law-breakers–well by some anyway.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Guy Fawkes was right.
Sorry to change the subject but i have just seen this on Sky News. Better look quick as it is sure to be pulled soon: A man is being treated for a rare form of TB which is resistant to normal drugs. TB is spread in the air. The patient, from overseas, is being cared for in an isolation ward at Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow. He has been diagnosed with Extremely Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (XDR-TB) - and it is thought to be the first time the strain has been confirmed in the UK.
-
Word from the ministry of truth is that TB was never eradicated here, and that immigrants must not be mentioned. - Ed
Ed, I’m not sure that “Ministry of Truth” is an accurate appellation… Ministry of Half-Truth, more like.
-
Yes, that’s more like it. As with all things Orweliblabcon, everything is inverted, hence Ministry of Truth is also inverted. Truth is lies, freedom is slavery etc …… On the other hand, a half-truth is as good as a lie anyway. They do get themselves in a pickle though eh. “Oh what a tangled web and all that. - Ed
Heavens above, they throw pensioners into prison to teach the rest of us a lesson on paying council tax.
The law isn’t being seen to be working fairly. These people have the law in their pockets - they are the law. You steal one penny they will throw the book at you. Fall behind in your mortgage they take your house. Go overdrawn they charge you the earth.
Yet this gang of £100.000 a year +expenses cant steal enough of our taxes fast enough to buy them self property abroad to get out of the multicultural hell hole they have made for we people. The BNP,have to get into power to punish these thugs and bring common sense decency honesty and openness back to our government.
Oliver Cromwell booted them out now its the turn of the BNP.
BNP say it as it is.
The Liberal, Labour and Conservative alliance strike again. You cover my back and I”ll get our Sir Ian B LIAR police commisar to cover yours. Don’t get out of line the rest of you, you wouldn’t want to lose your job and your pensions would you? LAW and JUSTICE (!!) have now become just words in the dictionary. No honour in that job anymore.
Well, I didn’t hold my breath over this one! Every other corruption probe into the machinations of “donations” into Labour party coffers has met with a “no action” verdict, and this really comes at no surprise. I’m pretty sure even William Hill the bookmakers would have declared “the bets are off” when this one came into the public limelight. Conway was caught with his hand in the till, the evidence was irrefutable, and yet the police seemingly cannot find the evidence to launch a prosecution. It’s worth noting that the police have no formal powers to initiate a prosecution. The decision for this rests firmly with the CPS (Clown Prosecution Service), and they are dictated to by the DPP (Department of Political Procrastination) whose Director is, after all, a Labour appointee and importantly, a friend and supporter of this thoroughly corrupt party. So I think we can guess where the decision originated from, can’t we? It also highlights the “working relationship” Labour enjoys with the Conservative party. In days past, Labour would have been delighted to have been able to embarrass the Conservatives over such issues, but as we can see, no longer. Anyone remotely thinking of voting for the Tories must surely see this event as a wake-up call to vote BNP.
It just gets better and better! Let them bring about their own downfall (talk about digging your own grave!).
Come on Horsa–personally, I’d rather slit my own throat than vote CONS…..VOTE BNP!
These vermin who masquerade as MPs are annoying a lot of people. Like me they are only civil servants. Had I been caught fiddling expenses my backside would not have touched the ground.
No, they are very UNcivil servants. In fact, they regard the population as their servants, rather than vice-versa!–Ed.
Better though than spending vast amounts of money on a cosmetic police investigation which leads to nothing.
Remember the Cash for Honours fiasco? Millions of pounds spent on a top level police enquiry that was neutralised at the last minute by cowards in the CPS.

Cowards, or worse. - Ed
“Oliver Cromwell booted them out now its the turn of the BNP.

So he did, warrior brave, so he did:-

“Come come! ….. We have had enough of this …. I will put an end to your prating .. It is not fit that you should sit here any longer! You have sat here too long here for any good you have been doing lately. You shall give this place to better men! - Call them in! (the musketeers) …. You call yourselves a Parliament ….. You are no Parliament; I say you are no Parliament! You are whoremasters and drunkards, corrupt and unjust men, scandalous to the profession of the Gospel: how can you be a Parliament for God’s People? Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, - go!”
- Oliver Cromwell dismissing the “Rump” Parliament, April 1653
