Allowancesgate: More stench from Westminster

A story in today’s Daily Mail can only serve to fuel the growing sense of righteous outrage felt by no few British taxpayers over the unfettered greed of many of our “Honourable Members”. Indeed, the extent of corruption in The House – only apparently matched by its manifest evasiveness and contempt for the public – is arguably on a scale not seen since the rotten parliaments of seventeenth century England!

We have always known The House to be the haunt of pathological liars but recent revelations suggest it to be a den of thieves, whilst the passage of the Lisbon Treaty confirms it as a viper’s nest of EU collaborationist traitors! Such is the current state of this abominable “Mother of Parliaments”.

Returning to the Daily Mail story we today learn:

“A typical employee would have to work for 62 years to earn the pension an MP receives after only 13 years, research reveals today.”

For the first time, it lays bare the “platinum-plated” pension enjoyed by the country’s MPs - but virtually none of their constituents.

Experts said only “bank robbers and Russian oligarchs” are so richly rewarded so quickly.

The report reveals that an MP is entitled to a pension worth nearly £20,000 a year after working for just 13 years, the average length of service.

To earn the same pension for themselves, one of their constituents would have to build up a pension pot worth £480,000.

A private sector worker on average earnings in a typical company scheme would take 62 years to achieve this.”

  1. Words can no longer express the anger I feel towards these liars, thieves, and traitors. Every last one of them must be stripped of their pension rights and ill-gotten gains, and then be compelled to live on the state pension in one of the many ‘diverse’ hell-holes that they expect the rest of us to inhabit. A curse on them and on all their houses.

  2. At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask. These people have no shame–their policies are as corrupt as they are.

  3. I can think of no time in history when so many Westminster politicians have been accused of both corruption and treason AT THE SAME TIME. There have been corrupt politicians and there have been treacherous politicians but never before so many guilty of both charges simultaneously. Perhaps the part played by the Internet in disclosing their misdeeds and making them widely known has something to do with it.

  4. How nice for our revered Members of Parliament that they can claim up to £22,000 a year to furnish their homes. No wonder John Lewis is doing so well, but those days may be numbered. The release of this information, and the hardly surprising public outrage it has stimulated, means things will have to change. However, it looks as though the taxpayer will continue to be fleeced. Many MPs regard their careers not as a public service, but as a naked means of making money. If they lose these unforgivable perks they will, it is clear, demand either another allowance - perhaps as much as £40,000 a year for doing us the honour of them attending the House of Commons - or a big salary increase. Why should the Commons - chaired by a Speaker who has shown an interestingly creative attitude to claiming expenses for himself and his wife - think we should find that any more acceptable? If we want better MPs, the last thing we want to do is pay them more. Pay them less - or, preferably, don’t pay them at all.

  5. With the stench of lies, corruption, thieving, whoring themselves to the highest bidder etc., its going to cost a fortune to have the house fumigated before BNP men and women MPs can take their seats in the house.

  6. Liars and thieves go hand-in-glove, but what CANNOT be forgiven is their treachery–let’s not forget that this rabble of low lives were elected to REPRESENT the people of this Nation–NOT to force their own agendas on to an unwilling public–it’s now time for the peasants to rebel…..VOTE BNP!

  7. China rises in the east, while we concentrate on the middle East for what?. China have gone in to Africa to build more factories and get minerals. We give money to India and Africa with no return. Our useless morons have no idea what business means. Fiddle while the country is heading into the 3rd world. All that is happening makes no sense. But of course they will be OK with gold plated pensions. Rid us of these vermin for the sake of the country!

  8. I work with a young man who told me something we ought to be very aware of. His girlfriend works in the new taxpayer-funded milk cow called the ”environmental industry.’. She arranges grants for various companies who ”hit their targets” regarding their carbon footprint, etc. She told him the whole EU grants and targets system is riddled with fraud, lies, and downright criminality. No wonder the EU is so attractive to the three-party dictatorship in power here.

Interesting stuff, BC1959. The whole EU is a monstrous corruption!

  9. “Pay them less - or, preferably, don’t pay them at all.” - well said, Lickyalips. The whole point surely is that, through their own actions, MP’s have demoted themselves from members of a sovereign national legislative body to mere members of a regional council, merely rubber-stamping the orders of their masters in Brussels or dealing with relatively trivial matters. As such they hardly deserve the same remuneration as before. They should serve as amateurs and be paid bona fide expenses and compensation for lost earnings from their real jobs–assuming they’re actually able to do a real job.

  10. I don’t know how these vermin MPs can live with themselves. We have so many of them to keep supplied and fed with all this money as well - 641!? Even the USA has only 400 Representatives for approximately 300 million citizens; why do we need so bloody many of these rats in Parliament? The US Upper House has only 100 Senators but we have a mind boggling 700+ Lords and Ladies - mostly APPOINTEES! All these pensioners and younger families struggling to earn a honest living, while having to pay taxes through the nose for MPs’ second homes, £10,000 kitchens, £6,000 bathrooms - PLATINUM-PLATED PENSIONS - for this greedy, corrupt lot of sewer rats. The day cannot be far off when people will take to the streets in protest. Even normally placid Britain must by now be sick to death of the way these rats are chucking their hard-earned taxes down the sewer. Roll on the long-overdue backlash against them.

  11. The snouts-in-the-trough gorging of the clone parties is unchecked and will remain unchecked. It is their reward for selling out our country to Europe. When the BNP takes government, may I suggest they link MPs’ pay to a standard –that of the state old age pension?

  12. We would be better off asking the Mafia to come and run the country for us. They wouldn’t tax us as much as this lot, they are not as corrupt or greedy, they take good care of business, they look after their own people, and best of all they hate Marxist, Bolshevic, Stalinist, Trotskyite, traitorous Communists.

  13. When the meltdown occurs and the crap hits the fan (and it will). this lot will be off like a shot to a place in the sun looking for another trough to stick their snouts in after selling up and banking the cash. We will be left at the mercy of Islam’s newest recruit. President Blair and the Nazi Euro-Coppers. Lickyalips said: “Pay them less-or, preferably, don’t pay them at all.” I’d prefer them to be on PRP (Performance Related Pay). They’d earn nothing and perhaps bog off and leave us all alone!
