Allowancesgate: Anti-BNP Labour MP claims for second home - six miles from the House of Shame - says newspaper!

Our London correspondent has sent us the following from a London newspaper:

Quote: LEYTON and WANSTEAD MP Harry Cohen has been slammed for claiming thousands of pounds in Parliamentary expenses on his constituency home.

Conservative MP Stephen Hammond said that Mr Cohen and other London-based MPs should be barred from receiving the additional cost allowance (ACA) on second properties because they live so close to Westminster.

He singled Mr Cohen out for criticism because he continues to claim the maximum £22,110 allowance on his Wanstead house, which is just six miles from Westminster. (our emphasis –ed).

The Wimbledon MP launched his attack as a House of Commons inquiry revealed details of expenses MPs can claim back under the ACA, including up to £10,000 for a kitchen and £750 for a new television.

The allowance was originally introduced to refund MPs with constituencies outside inner London on money they spend on second properties closer to Parliament other than their main homes.

Mr Cohen, who counts a property in Colchester as his main home, continues to claim the ACA on his second’ home in Woodcote Road despite admitting to spending more than 90 per cent of his time there.” Unquote.

Labour MP Cohen, who, according to the Communist run UAF, is a supporter of theirs, is reported as saying that he:

Quote: admitted that the main item which he has claimed back on his London home has been mortgage interest. And he defended his position, saying: “I can only speak for myself, but living in the constituency is living on the job. I do need some private life too, as does my family. My overwhelming preference is for MPs to be paid an appropriate salary which recognises this important position and which covers expenses.” Unquote

It’s funny how left-wing, UAF supporting, Labour MPs - such as Cohen and Cruddas - who both represent London constituencies within easy reach of The House “need” working peoples’ tax money to help pay for their second homes is it not?

For the record - between Q1 2001 and Q1 2007 Cohen is recorded as claiming approximately £120,000 in ACA whilst Cruddas managed around £117,000 over the same period!

  1. Most ordinary people believe MPs have already paid themselves more than enough of our money.
These abuses of the over-generous allowance scheme should not only be stopped immediately, ALL past payments wrongly paid down the years should be repaid in full even if this means the properties in question being sold and/or confiscated. The money should go to neglected areas such as British hospices and elderly care, and the disgusting MPs concerned should be prosecuted, fined and sacked. What a greedy, shameless disgrace!

  3. Even closer than Westminster, in fact just a mile away from Cohen’s house,
is something Cohen doesn’t want to talk about, ….. do you, Cohen? -

But diversity, multicult, rainbow, enrichment, expenses-grabbing Cohen is anti-BNP.
    Not anti-immigrant heroin-peddlar you understand.

    You’re a scumbag, Cohen!

  4. Vecta you stole my thunder. This obvious outrageous abuse should be stopped.
Indeed, as you state, the monies paid to these thieves should be made to pay back in full.

    This is a national disgrace.

  5. Now we know why the likes of Cruddas and Cohen Dislike our party so much.
Our stand on immigration No!! Our stand on law and order Yes!!

These MP’s (mercenary parasites) are part of an organised gang. In the states its called the Mafia. In westminster it called The House Of Commons.
The BNP has a more realistic name. Hence their hatred towards us.
Time is running out for these people that rob us blind and expect us to thank them for it.

  6. Maybe it is time to start placing small ropes tied with a hangman’s noose in the rear windows of cars as part of a ‘bring back hanging campaign’.

Sick to death of petty vandalism and the like; business folk, managers and directors might even begin displaying one in their broken windows.
Very unlikely but it might just take off as an idea.

My main concern however would be children copying.
But some things they should come to understand and learn are not games.

While we agree fully with your sentiments, Gamelgorm, we do not endorse the displaying of nooses.
Perhaps, instead, a simple statement to the effect that the restoration of capital punishment is supported by the majority of Britons. - Ed

  7. Hello, after a month of reading the political sites, you have really woken me up to what this country is realy going through, I have many worries in this day and age, with the state of the country, and on a personal level in my business of eleven years being directly affected by the influx of so many immigrants to my area. Enough is Enough. You Have My Vote.

  9. Please do not be nasty to 2 of our best BNP recruiters. The majority of Jon Cruddas has steadily declined, and with the BNP Barking and Dagenham Councillors doing well, his time as a MP could be near its end. Also, the security of Harry Cohan as an MP is not invulnerable.

Harry and Jon you are doing a great job for the BNP. What a better advert–vote for you two or the BNP.

WALTHAM FOREST: Councillor guilty of beating wife

    http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/topstories/display.var.2136976.0.waltham_forest_councillor_guilty_of_beating_wife.php

A LIBERAL Democrat councillor has been found guilty of assaulting his wife. Imran Abrahim punched his spouse Banish and slapped her around the face as they rowed about a phone call. He threatened to kill her and send her back to Pakistan during the heated exchange in November last year, Waltham Forest Magistrates Court heard.

Send ‘em all back, that’s what I say!

  11. For these people to call themselves the labour party is laughable, and false advertising.,When they changed to nu labour, caring about the working classes went out of the window and was replaced with manipulating the working classes with political indoctrination,,downgrading the education system so much that the working class children were educated much worse than their parents, and brow beating the masses using fascism disguised with the new name of political correctness.,The working classes are not represented by these British hating fascist dictators, they are despised by them so much that they are even stealing their countries away from them, leaving them nationless refuse.
