Stand by your Ham - The Video

pigs.jpg

The article below is taken directly from the ‘Pigs Are Worth It‘ web-site ‘. The message being given is presented in a very tongue in cheek way, but, make no mistake about it, it is a very serious message!

British farmers in general are in dire straights, pig farmers are in despair! The government couldn’t care less, likewise the big supermarket companies.

Pig farmers lose, on average, up to £26 for every pig sold

The government simply wants to appease the EU, and that means destroying every last vestige of the British agricultural sector. The clever part being that all they have to do to achieve their goal is - NOTHING - not a damned thing! And if they win, they will have rendered the country defenceless against any future demands from Brussels.

Obey or starve is as good a threat as you can get!

The supermarkets are just plain greedy! They screw every last drop of blood from their suppliers - don’t be fooled by the pictures on their packs that show a smiling farmer happy to sell to Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrison, Asda, et al - the reality is very, very different. How different? Read on for the answer!
Now we can’t do much to influence a corrupt and disinterested government, though we should still remind them that our culture deserves to have a voice when ever we can. Damn it, it’s our country after all!
But we can influence the supermarkets!
During the next few weeks please contact the customer services department of your local supermarket company, and tell them, politely, but firmly, thatyou won’t buy their pork, or pork products, until they start paying British farmers a proper price for their product. Hand in letters to your local store, and/or demand to speak to the manager and make the same demand!
We can force these greedy uncaring giants to play fair, if - and it’s a big if - if, enough of us do just that!
As British Nationalists none of us should buy pork or pork products from a major supermarket until they start supporting British workers! But even if we all acted in unison, it still won’t be enough. So spread the word, tell your friends and neighbours, write, fax, or e-mail, your local paper, the national press, and the TV stations.
This is not a party political issue , and its not a BNP campaign, it is a campaign by British farmers, and it is of national importance.

The BNP is proud to support this campaign!

RALLY IN LONDON

STAND BY YOUR HAM – THE NEW POP SENSATION?

Pig farmers from across the county have recorded a single as part of the campaign to raise awareness of their fight for fairer prices for their pigs.
Stand by your Ham is based on the Tammy Wynette 1968 classic Stand by your Man and was recorded in a London studio by a group of 30 farmers.
The lyrics of the original song have been reworked to reflect the crisis that the pig industry is currently facing. This is due to massive increases in feed prices caused by rocketing world wheat prices. The majority of farmers are now selling every pig they rear at a loss of up to £26. The industry as a whole faces potential losses of £200 million in the next year.
Barney Kay, National Pig Association (NPA) general manager and man behind Stand By Your Ham, said: “It is a slightly tongue in cheek way of raising awareness of a serious issue. Put simply, farmers need to receive more for their pigs or many face the prospect of going out of business. All they are asking for is a fair price.
“Consumers have said in two national surveys that they are prepared to pay a little more to help farmers and retail prices have started to go up, but hardly any of this has been passed back down the supply chain.”
A recent NPA survey showed that 95% of pig farmers are considering stopping production if the price they receive does not improve ultimately leading to a shortage of pig meat in the long term and potentially steep rises in the retail price of pork, sausages, bacon and ham.
Consumers would also see reduced choice in high welfare products as British farmers have amongst the highest welfare standards in the World. EU countries supplying the UK are not legally obliged to meet these UK minimum legal standards; as a result an estimated 70% of all imports would be illegal to produce in the UK.
“Once farmers have taken the decision to quit the industry the investment required to recommence pig production is likely to be prohibitive,” said Barney Kay.
“We’re asking people to show their support for farmers by looking for the Quality Standard Mark on pork, bacon, ham and sausages. This helps support farmers who produce to higher standards of welfare.”
Anyone wishing to register their support can also sign the online petition by clicking here.

  1. We buy most of our fresh meat from a family shop in Buxton, they give you plenty of choice and his very popular products are fresh and seem to work out cheaper. I hate supermarkets. Whilst they appear to give good value, they are really out for total dominance, part of the global control of people. Wherever possible they should be avoided. If any farmers reading this have any ideas of a way to supply their products directly, they may be pleasantly surprised at the support they may receive, but it has to be well thought out, not just ocasional farmers’ markets. Perhaps a BNP distribution network? Winston Churchill said ‘Dogs look upto you, cats look down on you, but pigs treat you as their equal’.

  2. I wonder if the answer is for farmers to get together - to have their own slaughter houses and meat-packing plants, and cut out the supermarkets, selling direct over the internet?

  3. The price of pig feed has risen, along with all grains, as a result of several factors. The Chinese and Indians are eating more meat, thus increasing grain consumption. More arable land is being used to grow fuel in a futile attempt to reduce alleged man-made global warming, and speculators are also pushing up prices, since, as shares and property fall, they are looking for other investments. Ultimately, the only way to feed an ever-growing world population is to ban meat-eating. I’m sure exceptions could be arranged for MEPs and quango members.

  4. It’s inevitable. How can a country which has a government which aspires to convert us all to islam have a pig industry. We have British lamb and beef adverts on TV but when did you last see a British pork or a Danepack bacon ad? Even Walls pork sausages are advertised as having ‘Traditional Flavour’ with no mention of pork.
Think of the bigger picture, folks. Dark forces are seriously at work here.

  5. Horsa, robstew - I think the price of feed is a result of rising oil prices (like many intensive agricultural methods it uses alot of the stuff in production of feed, fertilisers etc - see the excellent Peak Oil section on this website)

However, I too, would not be greatly surprised if it was somehow more cloak, dagger and liberal psychotic disorders in appeasing certain bacon dodgers! The cynical side of me suspects alot of things in our PC ’state’ now.

On a more general note, I am not sure what a boycott of supermarket pig products, as suggested by the article would do. Surely this would further damage UK producers? Alot of British pork seems to be strangely low in price compared to British beef for example - is there a reason for this?

Other than that maybe, though I concede it is not as easy as it once was, is to buy locally at a butchers. Our local one home cures their own bacon. And, as another post mentions, I’ve seen some producers (of all farm products) on the internet.

Biggest help of all - get the F*** out of the EU - it is bent and angled in a way to disadvantage British producers - other countries supplying us have no where near the same welfare requirements (they should be the highest by the way, as ours are) think of that next time you inadvertently buy Danish bacon….nothing against the Danes by the way, but logic dictates that any civilisation (or country) worth its salt should be self-sufficient in producing its own food!

  6. “Target shifts Muslims who won’t ring up pork to other tasks”

    From the Winona Daily News:

MINNEAPOLIS — Muslim cashiers at some local Target stores who object to ringing up products that contain pork are being shifted to other positions where they don’t need to, the discount retailer said Saturday.

The Star Tribune reported this past week that some Muslim cashiers at local Targets had declined to scan pork products such as bacon because doing so would conflict with their religious beliefs. They would ask other cashiers to ring up such purchases, or sometimes customers would scan those items themselves, the newspaper reported.
Islam teaches that pigs are unclean and eating pork is a sin, and some Muslims feel selling or handling pork is also forbidden because it would make them complicit in the sins of others.

As the local Muslim population grows, fueled by immigration from East African countries such as Somalia, efforts by Muslims to live by the rules of their faith often come into conflict with the realities of the American workplace.

Disputes over how employers should accommodate prayer times surface from time to time, and there’s an ongoing dispute involving cab drivers who serve Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — many of whom are Muslim — who refuse to take passengers who are carrying alcohol.

I know that all of the above issues are issues here in the U.K., and we can all think of others.. pig calendars being removed from office walls, guide dogs being refused by Muslim cabbies, and the banks no longer supplying “Piggy banks” to children. Drip..drip..drip.. We must not continue to appease this vocal minority.

  7. 1956 Treaty of Rome-the pooling of coal and steel.
1965 The scrapping of TSR2,followed by small rundown in industry.
1972 Heath, the TRAITOR, signs Rome Treaty, ‘common market’ grabs fishing industry.
1980’s industry is further run down, followed by coal mines.
1997 Bliar, hardly any industry, step up in the quota of immigrants.
2001 Foot and mouth? Farming devastated.
2006 foot and mouth bluetongue etc etc.
2007 Millions more pour into country, no work for them–even less for Brits. More and more houses are built for guess who? Green Belt disapearing. Pig farmers,
after accepting the EU way of looking after pigs, are going broke as it upsets certain members of our enriched society. France and Germany still have old scores to settle with us.
As Brucie says ‘Didn’t they do well’! Wake up Britain and vote BNP in VERY large numbers to rid this country of this scum.

  8. Genus plc (formally part of the Milk Marketing Board) is one of the worlds leading bovine and porcine companies. It would be interesting to know if Genus would make a statement via the British National Party/Land and People news and media pages on how they view this dilemma now facing the British Pig Industry.

  9. Many shoppers routinely buy “fairtrade” goods, where overseas producers are offered a premium price to foster social reform or community projects in their countries. I’ve done it myself. What about fair trade for British farmers? We know that our traditional way of life in Britain is under threat, and the blame lies with the EU, our weak-kneed government and unscrupulous supermarket monopolists, who should be named and shamed.
    Snouts in the trough, again!

  10. MEDHI KAZEMI is his name and the Foreign Office (allegedly) are apparently concerned that if they allow this. You bloody bet it will! Lots of potential Islamic NuLabour votes though? Something about him being on his way to Canada/is in Holland/no proof that friend exists/claiming his friend gave authorities his name/his dog’s name is poops/Britain’s welfare benefits are best! Tell Holland to deal with it! But I bet the swine ends up here!

  11. Being a veggie I think all meat eaters need re-educating.
Pigs are known to be intelligent animals.
Maybe thats why Muslims despise them.
Pig farmers can always find an other way to farm.
What other business gets paid by the state to carry on business?

    Dogs look up to you
    Cats look down on you
    Pigs see their equal.
