Chairman’s Blog: From London to Wales

Well, I’m down in London again, waiting for another planning meeting about our GLA campaign in Richard Barnbrook’s office. And, at long last, I’ve got a bit of spare time to update my regrettably whiskery blog.

Last night our Elections Department chief Eddy Butler, South East Regional Organiser Andy McBride and I held the first of the interviews for potential GLA top up list candidates. We met the first two on our list in the slightly eccentric function room of a splendid Elizabethan pub just north of the M25 near South Mimms.

After the selection interviews, we squeezed into the by now packed public bar where I gave a speech to a mixture of BNP members from the northern edge of London and this part of Essex, and a few non-political but definitely sympathetic locals. We were nearly all standing up so I kept it fairly short. The Real Ale (Marstons and Greene King) was excellent, and the occasional heckling from the pub parrot only added to the atmosphere and the fun. We did a Q&A session afterwards and covered a wide range of subjects over perhaps another 30 minutes, finishing by about ten.

I point out at one stage that we’re only a couple of miles from where I was born and brought up in Barnet. Even at the age of about seven I and my primary school friends were allowed (compelled!) to walk to school every day, about half a mile along roads and over a common near Hadley Wood. We were all told by our parents not to talk to tramps, but apart from that neither we nor our parents had any concerns or fears. We had to be home for tea before dark, but apart we were free to play in the woods (we had a rope and log swing hanging from a tree over a muddy brook) and amble home when we wanted. We, in other words, had a proper childhood - something denied to so many children in crime-ridden, pervert-stalked, fear-filled Britain these days. Only when criminals are properly punished again will a new generation get back the freedom that we had and which so many of our children have never been able to enjoy.

Mollycoddle the criminal minority or protect the rights of the innocent majority?

That’s the choice that all ruling elites have to make. We all know which side the Westminster parties take - and whose side the BNP is on! This afternoon our interview panel is seeing the main block of GLA hopefuls, and I’ve then got another branch meeting to speak at before heading home. I’ve done meetings over the last couple of weeks in places as far afield as Birmingham and Newcastle (a particularly well-attended affair as a hard-hitting local Patriot leaflet against Labour council plans to reinvent part of the west of the city as ‘Asia Town’ is really pulling in new enquiries and members).

On top of that there’s been a large amount of backroom work - everything from staff meetings, management conferences, the first Constitutional Review meeting and a very welcome visit to the very smart new Excalibur unit. A flavour of all the progress we’re making behind the scenes is carried in my article in February’s Identity and in a photo feature in this month’s BNP British Nationalist members’ bulletin. Those really ‘in the know’ about these advances and others in the pipeline are very excited about them, and I’m sure that the rest of the party will be too as news of it all filters through.

We’ve had some truly awesome press coverage in the first few weeks of this year, especially in London and the South East. Particularly good was the press and TV coverage of Richard Barnbrook’s bold appearance at the head of the police pay protest march in central London, and Donna Bailey’s very positive double page spread in the Daily Mail and appearance on regional TV news.

All this will help put us very firmly on the political radar for the GLA elections in May. The next national Weekend of Action in the capital will be on 16th - 17th of this month.

I know we’ll have a good turnout from various parts of the country as we did back in January. That said, please can we see a good team from the South West this time? Back in January I know that our ‘deep south’ people were very busy with good work about the plans for a big mosque in Plymouth, while the mid-West were busy with a by-election near Calne (where our intervention lost UKIP a seat they’d gained by a defection). But with those out of the way chaps and chapesses, we hope to hear some West Country ‘burrs’ at the Saturday evening social!

Of course, the biggest factor effecting turnout on a weekend in the middle of February is invariably the weather. So far at home in mid-Wales we’ve had a thoroughly disappointing winter - not even enough snow to turn the ground white, let alone to make the dogs go crazy as they do when they’ve got drifts to dive into and snowy slopes to roll and wriggle down.

By mid-Feb real cold begins to get unlikely, but in Suffolk where I used to live it was always said and believed that winter had a second bite at the time when the blackthorn was in flower, and its tiny delicate petals (precursors to the sloes that can be used with equal amounts of sugar and a lot of work pricking the tiny black-blue fruits to let out their juices and to turn - in time - cheap supermarket gin into something well worth drinking) are usually at their peak over the couple of weeks around then.

So while I love the crisp beauty and the otherworldly changes wrought by snow and hoar frost, I’ve got my fingers crossed for a mild and spring-like weekend in London on 16th - 17th. And I hope to see plenty of you there.

  1. Nick, everything you say is what everybody says they want. All they’ve go to do then is vote BNP! How hard is it? The 16th/17th is booked, no problem.

  2. I am going to my first BNP meeting this week. I reckon it’s time to show a bit more support than just comment now.

  3. I fled to Spain six years ago along with tens of thousands of my fellow Brits without a second thought for those left behind. If the situation in London back then was grim, today it is an absolute nightmare for many Londoners, especially our more vulnerable citizens who are afraid to walk the streets in their own city after dark. Let us all make London a safer and more decent place to live.

  4. Who do I contact to help out on the 16/17?

I also feel it’s time I did more for Nick and Country. I/we have a plane or a ferry to catch to get to the mainland but what’s your Party and Country worth?

We also fled to Spain but came back for lots of reasons. Elderly and long time friends who we look in on and help out, have begged us not to go back there - and we won’t. It would be like leaving them to the mercy of a marauding enemy.

The Country and Party are fortunate to have a leadership who inspire so much. In the coming Battle for Britain, The Chairman’s Name will be a Tower of Strength.

  5. I’m seriously considering a move to Australia. I’m not sure we can win this battle….1453 comes to mind.

  6. Well done Nick, you are the only party leader out there with your head screwed on. Good Luck!

  7. I totally agree with richard978.

  8. richard978 please don’t ever say that - not even to yourself. If a Country’s worth dying for by others, it’s worth staying and fighting for and keeping. I took flight and woke up one morning and realised what I had done. That’s how it happens - you don’t know what you’ve got until you wake up and realise it’s gone. Whoever said ‘be careful what you wish for’ knew what they were talking about - and I ignored similar warnings from friends to my cost. Fear dreams as much as nightmares.

  9. “I’m seriously considering a move to Australia. I’m not sure we can win this battle….1453 comes to mind.”

That may not be the great move you think it is, Richard. Since 1941 the shield and guarantor of Australia has been the US Pacific fleet. The US is clearly weakening, China is rising. The long term picture may not be bright.

In our country we face a battle which not only can be won, it must be won, and it will be won. The battle is not with the alien colonists so much as with home-grown liberalism. Encouragingly, Liberalism totters on the edge of a cliff: whether it is the economic liberalism that has destroyed our economy or the social liberalism which has debauched our country, it has been an utter disaster.

The consequences, particularly the economic ones, are becoming more apparent on a daily basis. The government looks more and more like an unrepresentative, out of touch faction living in a cocoon of their own deluded unreason. This is not a state of affairs which can prevail for long. This is very similar to the situation in England when Charles I’s government, by the pursuit of unpopular and deluded policies, drove the populace into revolt. And the French parallel is also striking. Bankrupt governments, particularly financially so, upon the verge of collapse. LibLabCon are finished. It is only a matter of time, and it is the consequences of the extraordinary and sickening spectacle of greed and economic folly pursued relentlessly over the past 30 years especially that will do for them.

Few really have any regard for them, with their purse emptying, their power will simply ebb away. We must look particularly to police, prison service, local authority worker “industrial action” as the start point.

This will not turn into 1453. The BNP have vast potential to fill the vacuum left by our liberal “friends”. Above all, a sustained critique of liberalism must be made and a constant and heavy fire laid down on these fools, knaves and traitors. We must look too to the army as the shield and sword of our indigenous people. It is a question of releasing that potential.

  12. Where is the meeting in February?

Just one point> isnt it time that the BNP joined up with the group below>>

“Identity, Tradition and Sovereignty” (ITS) is a group in the European Parliament formed on January 15, 2007. The grouping brings together 20 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from seven countries — meeting the minimum number of members required to establish a bloc under the Parliament’s rules.

  13. richard978: This thing is only just starting, and we are getting our act together! Look at the progress being made. Just compare this website with what existed only a couple of months ago! People’s perception is changing as they increasingly realise that there’s nowhere else to turn, and anyway ‘this BNP lot’ are nothing like they’ve been led to believe.

People have sat in piles of rubble with little or no food, their entire neighbourhoods destroyed, and they still had a smile and a thumbs-up for the cameras because they knew that what mattered above all was sticking together and enduring until the battle was won. Our burden is nothing compared to what others have gone through in the past. All people like us need to do is to wake everyone up before something else wakes them up. On current form, I’d say it’s definitely working. We don’t need the BBC or Dhimmi newspapers. Once the penny drops in the public mind, victory is assured. The penny is approaching the slot. Don’t let frustration get the better of us.

  14. Well done Nick! Can I just say that you don’t need to prick the sloes. Just put them in the freezer for a night or two and the skin pops on it’s own. Cheers!

  15. Keep up the good work Nick. The BNP has never been in a better position to win seats on the GLA and to use this as a springboard for the Euros. You can be sure that the sinking ship of UKIP will soon be hyped by the media to maintain the status quo.

  16. I have only been reading this website for a few weeks but I find that it is becoming my main source of news. It’s an intelligent open site and has made me aware of what the BNP is about. My Father and Grandfather were Labour and worked for the party for what they thought was the betterment of the working classes. How things have changed! And I wonder what they would make of our society now? I am sure they would not recognise it! Your manifesto is spot on, your Chairman Mr. Griffin is very articulate and charismatic. I firmly believe this is the party for me so I will be a member by the end of the week.

Ed says: Thanks, it makes our hard work worthwhile. Make sure you tell everyone you know about our website too!

  17. The ONLY party worth voting for, the only party that I believe will stick to their manifesto,The ONLY party with a leader that’s not afraid to tell it like it is,The BNP. This country is in a mess. Only a non-PC party can sort it out

    VOTE BNP!

  18. Just a quick mention of Nick Griffin. This man has the courage of a lion to endure constant smear attacks and physical threats on a regular basis. I have briefly met him and trust me when I say that apart from being an extremely well informed and intelligent man he is a “good geezer ” who likes a pint and a bit of banter. Let’s all please rally round Nick and his family and see this thing through to its logical conclusion ! We will win!

  19. Nick Griffin has worked hard for many, many years to save this country and has earned his position as leader of the BNP. The way he has brought everyone together and advanced this party (especially recently) to the commanding position it is now in, is truly inspiring. Whilst it takes many activists working hard to make great advances, it would be to no avail without a strong and dedicated leader such as Nick. He never splutters when asked an awkward question by the media, he has the reply right there to shoot them down. If this country is to be saved, then Nick is the man to lead us to victory. A brave man too, considering all of the different sinister forces ranged against him. Show him it is worth it and get your friends to vote BNP!
