Policemen are to be taught sharia law in a bid to counter extremism at a local level
It would appear that the limp clergyman, Dr Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, might not have been such a loose cannon after all, when he spoke about accepting parts of Sharia Law.
Could it be that his recent comments were simply part of the preparations by leaders of the Quisling regime of Westminster to pave the way for embracing Sharia Law in a far more fundamental way?
This quote from the Chief Constable in charge of the strategy, West Yorkshire’s Norman Bettison, said: “We work closely with communities and the majority of police training at the moment in this area is done in partnership with Muslim organisations.
If that statement doesn’t scare the pants off of you, then you misread it. Go back and read it again!!
Note also, the quotes from David Davis, Tory MP, don’t they sound very similar, in intent, to what the clueless Archbishop had to say!
Certainly this report on the ’secret’ plans to educate police recruits in the wonders of Sharia and the Koran, is certainly indicative of such an intent.
And like so many other dilutions of our traditional values, this one is also explained away as an attempt to counter extremism!
Work that one out if you can? I confess, the logic is lost on me!
Police will be trained on the importance of the Koran and Sharia law to Muslims under Government plans to tackle extremism.
Lessons in the Islamic faith and culture will become part of the formal training for recruits.
Chief constables said officers will build better relationships by understanding the communities they are policing.
This could prove crucial in rooting out extremism and preventing a terrorist attack, according to the Association of Chief Police Officers.
But critics expressed concern that the plan could foster division, rather than combat it.
It comes after the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, said the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK “seems unavoidable”.
He later said his remarks had been misinterpreted.
Shadow Home Secretary David Davis added: “Of course it is sensible for the police to have an understanding of the Koran and Sharia law as long as we do not allow the situation to slip so that Sharia law is regarded on an equal basis with British law.
“British law is and always must be pre-eminent.”
The scheme is part of a wide-ranging strategy to prevent extremist ideas gaining hold in schools, colleges and prisons.
Other initiatives in the 40-page strategy include guidance to parents on how to stop children searching for extremist websites, and intervening where convicted terrorists are suspected of spreading hate in prison.
Police will not have to learn the “depth and complexity” of Sharia law but would be expected to understand Islamic culture.
But critics have described the plan as “politically correct thinking”.
Philip Davies, Conservative MP for Shipley, said: “Police officers are not there to implement sharia law. They are there to implement British law.
“This idea is misguided. We will only get community cohesion when everybody signs up to being British and following British law.”
The so-called Prevent strategy says: “Research last year revealed that the police service would be very low on the list of agencies that the Muslim community would turn to if they had concerns about a member of their community who embraced violent extremism.
“The police service has a long way to go in building a relationship of trust around these issues.”
The Chief Constable in charge of the strategy, West Yorkshire’s Norman Bettison, said: “We work closely with communities and the majority of police training at the moment in this area is done in partnership with Muslim organisations.
“We are building on this basis of training and emphasising that a basic principle of policing is that officers work with and should understand the communities they are policing.
“The Acpo Prevent strategy recognises this in the context of non-Muslim officers working with Muslim communities.
“These issues can be complex and include nationality, community and religious issues, all of which are interwoven.
“That is what we are trying to get across to officers in our training. The depth and complexity of sharia law is not part of this training.
“The strategy remains in draft form at present and I expect it to be formally adopted by chief officer colleagues after further feedback from partners and communities.”

Every time that I drive past our local mosque on Fridays as you do, I am constantly suprised by the large police presence. I’ve seen 3 mini buses full of the Old Bill plus two squad cars, no doubt paid for by we know who. The point being that, at least where I live, the non-Islamic coppers are probably up to speed on all aspects of the “relgion of peace”. So in the near future I will hear that the miscreants of society will be getting their collars felt by the old Mohammedans. Mind how you go.

The BNP should make a greater effort to penetrate into the “Islamic community” to gather intelligence. Surely it wouldn’t be too difficult to engage Muslim members (yes the BNP has a few of them), or find non-Muslim members willing to learn about Islam and pretending to be Muslims to act as moles and information gatherers.

This isn’t ‘new’. I was having to learn about the 5 pillars of Islam when I was in the police 10 years ago!
Doesn’t surprise me at all. There was a very interesting article in a Scottish daily paper by a retired senior police officer. He highlighted 2 cases and how they were handled. Both incidents happened at the same time. One was a white family getting seriously harrassed by yobs in their home, and looking for assistance. The other, an Asian shopkeeper suffering from shoplifting by kids was given immediate help. They were told to prioritise in favour of the Asian shopkeeper. Everyone, irrespective of colour or creed, should expect the same level of service and if the police go down this road of deciding who needs their assistance on the grounds of political correctness, they will lose the trust and respect of the indigenous British people.
mark_rossendale; the contradiction which you describe is very relevant. It is certainly true that if Britain falls under Islamic rule, there will be a mass slaughter of infidels and the politicians will indeed be the first to get the chop.
However, there is some reason to doubt whether Western Europe ever will become incorporated into the Islamic Caliphate.
Some time ago,I queried the same contradiction as you have raised by asking how the Liba/Lab/Con/EU gang, represnting the New World Order, could possibly reach a peaceable accommodation with the Islamic Caliphate when both are equally determined to achieve exclusive world domination.

I used to think I was a fair-minded, loosely Christian type of individual, tolerant of my fellow man and other religions. However, I long ago realised that these qualities were regarded by many of our Islamic (and other) ‘brethren’ as signs of weakness, just ripe for exploitation so I soon changed my opinions. These ‘newcomers’ to Britain’s shores have made it quite clear they want to take over the country and impose their stone-age philosophy upon the indigenous population. If our ‘leaders’ (what a misnomer that is) can’t or won’t see that for themselves, then we must make them.
