Mosques a “Catalyst For Conflict” across Europe.
The Swiss People’s Party (SVP) appears to have strengthened its power in last month’s election in spite of having its main election rally in Berne attacked by the far left and anarchists armed with street furniture. The great and the good of the Social Democrats and the bien pensant liberal writers and commentators failed to make much hay with the ‘black sheep’ cartoon, which they said was a shocking example of racism.
The SVP posters showed a white sheep kicking a black sheep off the red pastures of the Swiss flag. They said, rightfully in our opinion, that it was not racist because ‘black sheep’ was a common phrase in German, French and English for an undesirable character who did not play by the rules. In this case the ‘character’ being the illegal immigrant milking the system.
The Guardian of 11.10.07, in an article headed “The Rise of Mosques Becomes Catalyst for Conflict Across Europe”, reported that an SVP MP, Ulrich Schluer, was supporting a campaign to stop more mosques with high minarets being built in Switzerland as he wanted to keep the country culturally Christian. He added: “Unlike other religions, Islam is not only a religion. It’s an ideology aiming to create a different legal system. That’s sharia. That’s a big problem and in a proper democracy it has to be tackled. If the politicians don’t, the people will.”
In Switzerland referendums can be called if 100,000 signatures from the public are obtained. Mr Schluer already had 40,000 signatures.
The Guardian report said that ‘culture clashes’ over Muslim religious buildings have erupted in Italy, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. This opposition is on a collision course with an Islam, it said, that is now the fastest-growing religion in Europe and which is clamouring for its places of worship to be given what it sees as a rightful and visible place in west European societies.
Anyone whose head is not buried in the sand and who believes it will stop there and not lead to the eventual extinction of all other places of worship - Christian, Jewish, Hindu, or Sikh - is either naive, or a fool, or an obsessive old-school anti-semite who somehow thinks that his enemy’s enemy must be his friend.

In answer to John Beans’s comments I am afraid that there are too many people with their heads buried in the sand. The Swiss stand is a hopeful sign, alas we cannot say the same for the UK. Too many Britsh people still have their heads in the sand. Mainly fooled by our lying politicians who think everything will be ok.
Islam - even more than Marxism - provides exceptionally fertile ground for evil to grow in. It attracts the fanatical and murderous. The proof of this truth is seen in the London bombings, other attempts - e.g. in Scotland - and in the serious estimates of the number of dedicated terrorists in Britain alone. The number is put in the thousands.
And the problem is not simply with “terrorism”. In a recent interview with Mary Wakefield published in the Spectator, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the very brave woman whom fanatical Muslims want to murder, put it succinctly. She said - “Terror is just a tactic used by Islam. We are actually at war, not just with Islamism, but with Islam itself.”
Yet Labour and Tory politicians are paralysed. All we see is the occasional bit of government hand-wringing, silly talk about persuading Muslims to be “more British”, the politically correct denouncing the rest of us for not being tolerant enough, and people like David Cameron telling us how much immigration has “enriched” the nation. Some enrichment.
What is it going to take to open peoples’ eyes? The components for a dirty (or worse) nuclear bomb smuggled into a Mosque to be assembled and then detonated in a British city?
Yet I haven’t heard of a single deportation of a single Muslim terrorist, nor do I recall that any of the Muslim clerics who preach and orchestrate terrorist training has yet been deported. They should of course be deported, but that will never solve the real problem which is that so long as Islam is allowed in Britain, the ground for new terrorism to take root and grow will continue to be fertile.
Even if there were no other reason to support the BNP, the fact that it recognises how grave the menace of Islam is, and how fast the menace is growing, while both the Labour and Tory parties insist on ignoring it, is one of the most compelling arguments of all for supporting the BNP.

I notice no comment on this website about the mullahs of Oxford demanding the “right” to broadcast their calls three times a day over the city. This suggests (a) that they pathetically or deliberately impervious to the blatant inappropriateness of this kind of cultural pollution in a quintessentially “English” landmark location such as Oxford”; (b)that they have no thought or concern that the vast majority of Oxford citizens would be made to feel quite uncomfortable by this kind of ugly alien intrusion into their environment - an intrusion that would resemble the repressive, incomprehensible rantings of a Nazi concentration camp P.A. system rather than the decorous, musical and essentially anonymous sound of a Church bell; (c) that they are completely or wantonly ignorant of the fact that no English Christian denomination apart from the C of E assumes any right to broadcast a public “call to Prayer” - and certainly no other religion in this country has; and in any case, Church bells are usually only heard for a sum total of about ten minutes twice or possibly three times once a week on Sundays, not three times a day EVERY DAY.
I have sadly come to the conclusion that this latest demand is more to do with arrogant Islamic cultural imperialism and their desire to stamp their identity anything that is recognisably “British” (or “English”). Too bad they don’t understand - or care - that to us this is the gatecrashers trashing the country estate and collectively peeing into the ornamental lake.
